Role: Systems Engineering Project Manager Job Description

Fortinet is seeking a Project Manager within the Systems Engineering department to drive the adoption of Fortinet’s value-added services, ensure the appropriate quality of Fortinet’s support services, and manage escalation issues in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders involved in strategic projects. This hybrid role combines relational skills with structured project leadership, ensuring customer requirements are translated into actionable engineering work and delivered effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports the services pre-sales phase, cooperating with Sales and Systems Engineering teams to define project scope, time and effort estimates, required resource skills, and delivery approach, assisting in the definition of project success criteria and objectives during the preparation of technical proposals and Statement of Work document.

  • Set-up adapted project governance, deliver project status reports for internal stakeholders and documentation to support project governance and decision-making.

  • Promote best practices in Project and Portfolio governance, ensuring adherence to methodologies and supporting organizational maturity in project delivery.

  • Translate complex data and project statuses into clear, effective narratives to enable executive decision-making.

  • Promote strategic adoption of Fortinet Advanced Services portfolio (i.e. Resident, Technical Account Manager, Incident Response, etc.).

  • Ensure that solutions and services are properly delivered and provisioned (properly installed and activated, with appropriate maintenance and support quality).

  • Ensure all escalations and troubleshooting activities are properly addressed to be more effective and faster.

  • Run cadence with all involved stakeholders (i.e. Systems Engineers, Technical Account Managers, Professional Services, Customer Relationship Managers/Customers Services Managers, etc.) to facilitate escalations resolution and provide feedback on open cases.

  • Manage and grow relationships with key Customers, acting as their primary point of contact for post-sales activities.

  • Ensuring high customer retention and satisfaction levels by delivering exceptional service and support enabling sales opportunities.

  • Facilitate communications among Customers, Business Partners, Systems Engineering, Support, during complex escalations.

  • Lead cross‑functional project planning, tracking, and delivery for feature enhancements and defect resolutions.

  • Ensure timely communication with stakeholders, maintaining clarity on status, risks, and expected outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Experience managing complex customer escalations and working closely with sales and support engineers.

  • PMP or equivalent Project Management Certifications.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.

  • Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
