ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Form Energy is hiring a senior lab technician to support characterization of our battery materials. This role reports into our Reliability Analytics team, which focuses on material characterization to build a mechanistic understanding of how our battery performs and changes over time. As part of our team, you will contribute to a deeper understanding of our battery systems before, during, and after test, and work closely with both R&D and manufacturing teams to help drive meaningful changes in our technology. WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Image and analyze a wide variety of battery components by SEM, CT, XRD, XRF, and more.

Negotiate characterization requests with our stakeholders, balancing requests with characterization outcomes.

Develop and optimize sample preparation and measurement techniques.

Own key workflows, communicate progress updates, and escalate needs during daily team stand-ups.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

4+ years of characterization experience.
-
Demonstrated experience prepping, imaging, and analyzing materials using advanced characterization equipment. Materials characterization experience strongly desired, such as: SEM, XRD, CT, XRF, etc.

Demonstrated experience multitasking and balancing priorities of different tasks at different stages simultaneously.

Familiarity with laboratory information management systems, lean/agilent systems, and the like.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.
