As part of our Manufacturing team, you’ll help build the world-class, state-of-the-art smart vehicles we're known for. In our plants around the world, we’re constantly developing new technologies and processes to further increase our efficiency. You'll get the satisfaction of making great products people use and love.
Deliver new and retooled manufacturing systems for producing Power Electronics components. This role is part of the Powertrain Manufacturing Engineering (PTME) team.
You'll have...
- Bachelor's in engineering is required.
- 5+ years' experience in Manufacturing/Assembly utilizing heavily or fully automated high-volume production.
- Experience leading a project and/or team of engineers.
- Knowledge of manufacturing process related to power electronics manufacturing and testing (soldering, welding, etc.).
- Knowledge of electrified powertrain component function.
- Prior experience working in ISO clean room environment manufacturing power electronics
- Familiarization of ESD controls and measures for handling power electronics
- Data driven mentality and decision-making process.
- Application experience in computers and electronics.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to learn product function.
- Handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to a dynamic working environment and diverse team.
- Experience in Manufacturing Engineering.
- Mechanical and Controls Engineering aptitude.
- Project management experience.

This position is a salary grade 6-8 and ranges from $72,480-162,120.
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.

This position is hybrid. Candidates who are in commuting distance to a Ford hub location may be required to be onsite four or more days per week.
What you'll do...
- Lead the specification, procurement, build, installation and launch of Powertrain Production equipment related to the manufacturing of powertrain power electronics components.
- Develop and deliver standardized processes and equipment in line with global powertrain strategies.
- Develop and implement manufacturing process associated with power electronics manufacturing including vacuum reflow soldering, selective wave soldering and laser welding.
- Support all test processes (e.g. leak test, in-process test, final test etc.).
- Lead collaboration with Product Engineering to achieve a working Product design that meets Manufacturing Design Specifications with feasible expectations in the Engineering Specification (ES).
- Support the Prototype Engineering/Pilot Manufacturing to determine feasible manufacturing solutions and methodology during the early stages of new programs.
- Troubleshoot production issues impacting FTT and warranty, determine corrective actions to the part, assembly processes and/or test equipment.
- Travel to suppliers facilities and Ford Manufacturing plants will be required (10-30%)
