About the role

The Tax Analyst is responsible for supporting the company's tax compliance and reporting obligations in Mexico, with a primary focus on indirect taxes (VAT, excise taxes, etc.) at the local, federal, and international levels. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Mexican tax law, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. A working knowledge of direct taxes is also required.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience:
  • +3 years of experience in tax accounting, with a focus on Mexican indirect taxes.
  • Experience with Mexican tax compliance software and e-invoicing systems.
  • Skills:
  • Strong understanding of Mexican VAT law and regulations.
  • Experience with Specific ERP System, e.g., SAP, Oracle.
  • Working knowledge of Mexican income tax law.
  • Experience with cross-border transactions and international tax principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Language:

Fluency in Spanish and English (written and spoken) is required.

  • Nice to have: Master's degree in Taxation or a related field.
  • Nice To Have: Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent.
  • 4 days on site GTBC México (Naucalpan, México)
  • Indirect Tax Compliance:
  • Prepare and file all required Mexican indirect tax returns (e.g., VAT) accurately and timely, including monthly, quarterly, and annual filings.
  • Reconcile VAT accounts and ensure accurate reporting of input and output VAT.
  • Monitor changes in Mexican indirect tax laws and regulations and assess the impact on the company.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of VAT rules related to cross-border transactions, including imports, exports, and services.
  • Assist with indirect tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
  • Ensure compliance with e-invoicing requirements (CFDI) and other digital tax regulations.
  • Tax Cash Back Claims Process (Support Documentation and Filings)
  • Direct Tax Support:
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual income tax return and related schedules.
  • Support the calculation of estimated income tax payments.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Mexican income tax law.
