The NX CAD Customization Engineer is responsible for automating complex design processes, developing custom features, and streamlining engineering workflows within Siemens NX. The primary goal is to reduce manual effort and improve design quality by building bespoke tools, plugins, and integrations that extend the out-of-the-box capabilities of NX

Education Qualification : Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

No. of Years of Experience : 5–7+ years of experience in CAD customization specifically within the Siemens Digital Industries software ecosystem

Professional Exposure : Experience in Automotive (OEM / Tier -1) or Heavy Machinery industries is highly preferred.

Leadership Skills : Self-Starter / Team Player, Communication Skills along with Ability to learn and adapt, Positive and find a way attitude

• Automation Development: Design, develop, and maintain automated tools and scripts using the NX Open API to streamline repetitive CAD tasks (e.g., automated 3D CAD/drawing generation, Tooling & Fixture design, Die Design or any solid modelling).

• UI Customization: Create user-friendly interfaces within NX using Block UI Styler and Menu Script to allow end-users to interact with custom applications

• Process Integration: Integrate NX customization with Teamcenter (using SOA or ITK) to ensure seamless data flow between CAD and PLM environments.

• Generative Design & Optimization: Build workflows that utilize AI-driven generative design and topology optimization to suggest ideal geometries based on structural and manufacturing constraints.

Natural Language Processing (NLP): Explore and implement AI-driven interfaces (LLMs) to allow designers to interact with NX using natural language commands or automated documentation generation.

Skills Requirements:

• Proficiency in at least one of the NX Open supported languages: C# (.NET), C++, or Python.

• Deep expertise in NX Open API (Common API and/or Wrapped/Unwrapped User Function).

• Familiarity with Knowledge Fusion (KF) or Product Template Studio (PTS) is a plus.

• Familiarity with **Large Language Models (LLMs)**and API integration (OpenAI, Lang Chain, etc.) for engineering assistants – Added advantage

• Experience in data preprocessing and feature engineering specifically for 3D CAD geometry

Knowledge of Computer Vision or Geometric Deep Learning (handling voxels, point clouds, or meshes).
