We are seeking a dedicated technical leader to join our Vehicle and Connected Cybersecurity organization as the Manager for the Charging Ecosystem and Energy Infrastructure Security team.
This is a unique opportunity to build and lead a specialized team responsible for the end-to-end security of Ford's off-board charging infrastructure. You will define the security architecture and strategy for everything from the charger itself to the cloud services that support it, including emerging technologies like Vehicle-to-Grid and smart charging. Reporting to the Director of Off-Board Architecture & Strategy, you will be a key leader in shaping the future of secure electric mobility.
You'll have
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field OR a combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on areas such as automotive, IoT, embedded systems, application security, or industrial control systems.
- 3+ years of formal or informal leadership experience, including mentoring, guiding technical teams, and managing projects.
- Ability to develop and maintain engineering documentation including requirements, specifications, test plans, etc.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Deep understanding of network security, communication protocols (TCP/IP, TLS), and cryptographic principles (PKI, encryption, digital signatures).
- Experience with security risk assessment methodologies like Threat Modeling or TARA.
Even better, you may have
- Master's degree in a relevant technical or cybersecurity field.
- Direct experience with EV charging standards and protocols such as ISO 15118, OCPP, and Plug & Charge.
- Experience securing cloud-connected infrastructure and REST APIs.
- Knowledge of hardware security features like Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) or Trusted Platform Modules (TPMs).
- Familiarity with automotive cybersecurity standards (e.g., ISO/SAE 21434).
- Proven track record of building and leading high-performing technical security teams in a large, global organization.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex security risks to both technical and non-technical executive stakeholders.
You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!
As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice. You can choose what your Ford future will look like: will your story span the globe, or keep you close to home?
