About the role
The Material Control Superintendent is responsible for leading a team within a Parts Distribution Center, ensuring operational efficiency, safety compliance, and accurate inventory management. This role involves supervising and developing Material Control Supervisors as well as overseeing the day-to-day activities of a UAW-represented workforce engaged in receiving, packaging, replenishment, picking, and shipping processes. The superintendent is critical to meeting key performance objectives and maintaining positive relationships with the team and other stakeholders.
- High School Diploma or GED, bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of leadership experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience in an HVC/HCC/LVLC environment.
- Demonstrated willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and afternoon/night shifts with varying start times.
- Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn current systems (SAP/EWM)
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to interpret data, evaluate actions, and reach logical conclusions independently.

- Excellent organizational skills and ability to ensure accountability from all employees.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook).

- Champion and lead continuous improvement initiatives toward best-in-class performance.
- Responsible for managing all operations: Inbound, outbound, claims processing, building maintenance.
- Deliver objectives related to Cost, Quality, Safety, Efficiency, Absenteeism and Inventory Accuracy.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with all stakeholders, including fair and consistent administration of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Supervise and develop material control supervisors.
- Responsible for all operations including, but not limited to: Safety, Denials, Quality, On-time delivery, UAW Relationships, and Transportation.
- Inventory Management, Manage Budgets, Facility Management, Operational Business Plans, Liaison for all external partners.
