The Supply Chain Sustainability (SCS) team works within the Supply Chain Excellence organization to ensure that vehicle parts and materials (direct), as well as equipment and services (indirect) sourced from our global supply chain are produced and/or provided ethically while respecting human rights, the environment, and the communities in which suppliers operate. There are four sub-teams within SCS: Human Rights & Working Conditions (HRWC), Environment (ENV), Responsible Materials Sourcing (RMS), and Legislation/Compliance. The HRWC sub-team strives to meet Ford’s sustainability aspirations to source only responsibly produced materials through due diligence, including supply chain risk assessment, prevention, mitigation, and remediation (if needed). The HRWC Manager is responsible for managing a multi-national team, working collaboratively with region leads, and leading and/or participating in cross-functional teams. Previous position holder is available to support with transition.

What you'll do...

  • Lead development and execution of SCS HRWC strategies, processes, and compliance activities across the global supply base. Initiatives include (but are not limited to):
  • Supply chain due diligence compliance and reporting to ensure compliance with existing and proposed legislation.
  • Social responsibility auditing based on risk assessment.
  • Policy alignment of Tier 1 suppliers with Ford’s Supplier Code of Conduct.
  • Integration of SCS requirements and metrics into sourcing processes.
  • HRWC and sourcing training for suppliers and Ford team members.
  • Benchmarking within and outside automotive industry to identify emerging trends, recommend opportunities for improvement, and maintain awareness of external stakeholder expectations.
  • Lead regular updates to the Supplier Code of Conduct, Social Responsibility and Anti-Corruption Supplier Guide, Global Modern Slavery Statement
  • Support annual updates to Integrated Sustainability & Financial Report, Human Rights Report, Value Chain Transparency Supplier Guide.
  • Represent Ford as a technical expert in and develop point-of-view for industry and cross-industry forums and sub-teams relative to human rights and working conditions. Proactively engage in cross industry collaborations to ensure efficient engagement with Tier 1 suppliers and sub-tiers.
  • Identify key indicators and maintain data management integrity of all metrics for HRWC.
  • Manage Business Managed IT application requirements.
  • Lead department meetings, set annual team/employee objectives, develop annual budget for program implementation, memberships, etc.

Requirements You'll have...

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Business, Engineering, Sciences, or Supply Chain.
  • 7+ years of experience in Supply Chain and/or Corporate Sustainability
  • 3+ years leading effectively in global, cross-functional, internal, and external team environments.
  • Strong process discipline with attention to detail to ensure corporate compliance with external legislation and stakeholder expectations.
  • Executive level communication, presentation, and facilitation skills (verbal and written)
  • Organized self-starter capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to utilize data to determine next steps.
  • Strong teamwork and relationship building skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and comfortable learning new software.
  • Flexibility and change management skills.

  • Master’s degree or equivalent.
  • People Leader experience.
  • Solid knowledge of the Supply Chain policies and processes.
  • Familiarity with human rights issues, employee rights, community engagement.

This position is leadership level 6 and ranges from $112,680-212,760.

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.

This position is hybrid. Candidates who are in commuting distance to a Ford hub location may be required to be onsite four or more days per week.
