About Figure

Figure is an AI Robotics company developing a general-purpose humanoid designed to perform corporate tasks that address labor shortages and eliminate work that is undesirable or unsafe. Our mission sits at the intersection of advanced AI, robotics, and real-world manufacturing, and we are building the operational backbone to scale production of our humanoid platform.

Role Overview:

As a Materials Planning Manager, you will own the end-to-end materials planning function that ensures uninterrupted production of Figure’s humanoid systems. You will serve as the critical link between demand planning and physical production, applying MRP principles to drive inventory accuracy, manage shortages, and support aggressive build schedules.

This role blends deep analytical work with hands-on execution and cross-functional leadership. You will work closely with Manufacturing, NPI, Global Supply Management, Logistics, and Warehousing to maintain clear-to-build readiness in a fast-moving, hardware-centric environment.

Key Responsibilities

Materials & Demand Planning

Own module-level demand planning, translating build plans into executable material requirements

Maintain and govern the master demand file, ensuring accuracy between planned and actual builds

Analyze manufacturing yield rates and consumption trends to refine demand signals

Develop and manage part allocation plans for constrained supply scenarios

Own part change cutovers to ensure clean transitions without production impact

Inventory Management & Optimization

Monitor inventory levels, turns, and consumption rates to prevent stockouts and excess inventory

Drive inventory optimization strategies aligned with production ramps and engineering changes

Own the Part Request Approval process, ensuring alignment with demand and inventory strategy

Clear-to-Build (CTB) Ownership

Own daily Clear-to-Build (CTB) reporting

Partner closely with Manufacturing to ensure material readiness on the production floor

Proactively identify and resolve material constraints impacting build schedules

Materials Execution

Oversee materials management activities including:

PO releases

ETA tracking

Inventory accuracy and reconciliation

Support tactical purchasing to mitigate shortages and expedite critical components

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with Warehousing, Logistics, and Global Supply Management to:

Track supplier delivery performance

Resolve shipping, receiving, and inventory discrepancies

Support executive-level presentations with clear, data-driven insights

Process Improvement

Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the planning cycle

Propose and implement process improvements to improve planning accuracy, service levels, and scalability

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field

Master’s degree in Engineering or Supply Chain Management preferred

Experience

5–7 years of experience in materials planning, inventory management, or supply chain operations

Experience in high-volume manufacturing or complex hardware environments

Technical Skills

Strong proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (SAP or Oracle preferred)

Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, demand modeling)

Core Competencies

Strong analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail

Ability to identify trends in part consumption and manufacturing performance

Proven adaptability in fast-paced, rapidly changing environments

Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for Manufacturing and NPI teams

Compensation:

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $140,000 – $200,000 annually**.

Compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include additional components and benefits, which will be shared if an employment offer is extended.
