About the role
This position ensures the compliant and timely processing of payroll. The manager will lead a team of payroll team members, drive operational excellence through process standardization and continuous improvement, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to support key business objectives and foster a positive employee experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Operations & Leadership:

Lead, coach, and develop a multi-regional payroll team to ensure accurate and timely payroll delivery.

Provide expert advice and guidance on all payroll matters, acting as the escalation point for complex operational and compliance issues.

Recruit, develop, motivate, and manage team performance, providing the necessary guidelines and tools to achieve individual and team objectives.
Governance, Compliance & Policy

Develop, implement, and maintain global payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure data integrity and audit readiness.

Ensure strict compliance with all international, national, and local payroll, tax, and labor regulations.
Process Improvement & Transformation:

Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including the automation of systems and standardization of payroll processes to enhance operational efficiency.

Lead the design and implementation of best practices within the payroll function.

Support system implementations, upgrades, testing, and optimization efforts.

Utilize data-driven insights and performance metrics to identify opportunities, support recommendations, and make informed decisions.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management:

Build and partner effectively with a network of key stakeholders and senior management to maintain payroll data accuracy, manage contract negotiations, monitor service performance, and align escalations with optimal outcomes.

Finalize and present strategic plans and business cases to senior management for approval.
Complex Case & Project Management:

Manage complex payroll matters.

Lead and oversee payroll-related projects and transformation initiatives.

Proactively identify and analyze business issues and opportunities, evaluating and deciding on high-impact solutions.

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

A minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in payroll.

Proven experience in a leadership or managerial role, with the ability to manage a diverse team, including clerical and professional staff.

Strong knowledge of global payroll operations, tax compliance, and statutory requirements.

Experience managing payroll for a large and diverse employee base

Demonstrated experience working effectively within a complex, matrixed organization.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to present to senior leadership.
