The Opportunity

Youll work as part of a stable and flexible team on a specific range of clients and assignments. Youll be encouraged and expected to take accountability and make an impact.

Your key responsibilities

  • Checks and validates that the entries in the local accounting system are in line with the applicable reporting requirements;

  • Review the monthly, quarterly and annual tax compliance work and tax returns for Withholding Tax, Corporate Income Tax and VAT, as applicable;

  • Review the annual statutory financial statements and the half yearly accounting reports;

  • Timely identify possible accounting and tax compliance issues and communicate these to the manager in charge;

  • Supervise and review the work of the accounting assistants and provide on the job guidance and constant feedback on the accounting and tax work performed (substantive support, delegation of tasks)

Skills and attributes for success

  • Strong attention to detail and an eye for consistency

  • A deep understanding of accounting and fiscal requirements

  • Excellent analytical skills and a proven track record of successfully managing accounting reporting.

  • Open to learning, willingness to self-development and constantly expanding knowledge

  • University degree in Economics

  • +2 years of experience as Accountant in bookkeeping and tax compliance reporting

  • English language – medium/advanced level

  • Excel – advanced level

  • Good knowledge and skills to understand and create customized reports, to support reconciliations and ad-hoc reports.
