The opportunity

This is a hands-on strategic role. You’ll craft content for complex banking products while building the foundations for how content design operates here. You’ll work closely with UX designers, product owners, and developers, and regularly engage with directors and senior stakeholders across the business.

While your initial focus is corporate banking, the role sits within a broader innovation and experience design function - your approach and ways of working will extend to other projects and domains over time.

Your key responsibilities

  • Establish content design processes, standards, and ways of working within the Design team

  • Define and maintain voice and tone guidelines that work across products and platforms

  • Introduce content-first thinking into design workflows and product development

  • Build templates, patterns, and documentation that enable consistency at scale

Deliver content for complex products:

  • Write clear, purposeful content for digital banking journeys - from onboarding to transactions to servicing

  • Translate complex financial products and regulatory requirements into language customers understand

  • Create content that works across platforms: app, web, messaging, notifications

  • Ensure content is scannable, actionable, and contextually appropriate

Collaborate across the organisation:

  • Partner with UX designers, researchers, product owners, and developers throughout the design process

  • Work with legal and compliance teams to balance clarity with regulatory accuracy

  • Present content rationale and recommendations to directors and senior stakeholders

  • Navigate corporate structures and build relationships across business units

Ensure quality and enable others:

  • Review and quality-assure content across projects, maintaining brand and accessibility standards

  • Mentor designers. marketers and other team members on content principles and best practices

  • Use customer feedback and performance metrics to continuously refine content

  • Champion accessibility and inclusive design in all content decisions

Skills and attributes for success

Experience:

  • 6+ years of content design, UX writing, or equivalent experience

  • Proven background in banking or financial services (required)

  • Experience working within large, complex organisations

  • Track record of delivering content for regulated digital products

Skills:

  • Ability to simplify complex information without losing accuracy or nuance

  • Strong understanding of UX principles and how content supports user journeys

  • Familiarity with design tools (Figma or similar) and content management systems

  • Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive content practices

  • Excellent English - written and spoken (working language)

Mindset:

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and building new ways of working

  • Collaborative and able to influence without authority

  • Skilled at explaining content decisions to non-content stakeholders

  • Curious about emerging practices in content design and customer experience

  • Able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery
