About Global Delivery Services Global Delivery Services refers to EY's worldwide network of service delivery centers. The GDS team plays an important role in EY’s strategy by ensuring effective support to EY’s growth agenda. Our journey started in 2002 with approximately 200 people. Today we stand at 80,000+ professionals in ten locations around the world. We operate in Argentina, China, Hungary, India, Philippines, Poland, Sri Lanka, Mexico, Spain and the United Kingdom. Client service is focused on providing Consulting, Assurance, Tax, Strategy & Transactions, and Knowledge support to our clients around the world. The teams enable account teams worldwide to provide seamless, high-quality, value-added support, helping deliver exceptional client service. Enablement Services provides cost-effective, high-skilled, and innovative services to support EY’s global and local enablement teams. Markets, BMC, AWS, Finance and Accounting, Risk Management, Procurement, People Shared Services, IT Service Delivery and IT Global Infrastructure services, are among the services offered by Enablement Services. The Opportunity As a SAP BASIS Manager, you will be at the forefront of managing and optimizing our SAP BASIS infrastructure and operations. This role offers you the chance to lead the administration, maintenance, and performance tuning of our SAP systems, ensuring stability, security, and high availability. You will have the opportunity to work closely with functional teams, IT, and business stakeholders to enhance SAP system landscapes, implement best practices, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Your expertise will be essential in addressing complex technical issues, managing system upgrades, patches, and ensuring compliance with IT policies and regulatory requirements. In this position, you will also play a key role in mentoring and leading a team of BASIS administrators, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages knowledge sharing, skill development, and innovation. You will be part of a dynamic team that values technical excellence and is committed to delivering exceptional SAP services to support business objectives. Your Key Responsibilities Performance monitoring and tuning, issue diagnosis, root cause analysis, and resolution. SAP administration on UNIX & Windows environments. System copy/refresh planning and execution. Administration of ABAP + Java dual stack systems. Add on installation, Support Pack updates, and post implementation troubleshooting. Kernel upgrades and patching. Client copies, export/import operations. TMS administration, transport configuration, and troubleshooting transport errors. SAP system monitoring, log analysis, workload analysis, and early watch checks. SAP parameter optimization, operation mode setup, logon group configuration. SAP authorization knowledge: role analysis, creation, and troubleshooting access issues. Spool administration and troubleshooting print/spool issues. OSS Note implementation and correction deployments. Experience with Single Sign On, certificates, SNC, Web Dispatcher routing & load balancing. Strong experience managing SAP on public and private clouds. Hands on experience working with Azure, AWS, and GCP cloud platforms. Experience in SAP user provisioning, role assignments, and troubleshooting authorization conflicts. Understanding of OS/DB migration and heterogeneous migration concepts. Familiarity with SAP connectivity components such as Gateway, Web Dispatcher, RFCs, Cloud Connector, etc. Skills and attributes for success Should have 9 to 10 years of experience in the SAP Basis domain with strong leadership responsibilities. Solid hands on experience in SAP system administration including installation, configuration, upgrades, migrations, and performance optimization. Strong understanding of SAP architecture, transport management (CTS, CTS+), kernel upgrades, client strategies, and system refresh processes. Expertise in SAP HANA administration (performance tuning, monitoring, backup/recovery, memory optimization, and troubleshooting). Experience managing SAP landscapes such as S/4HANA, ECC, BW/4HANA, PO/PI, Fiori, Solution Manager, Web Dispatcher, and Gateway. Strong knowledge of SAP BTP, integration services, and administration fundamentals. Experience managing RISE with SAP environments and cloud operational activities. Strong documentation skills ensuring structured, compliant, and audit ready system documentation. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with experience working with senior leadership. In depth expertise in Solution Manager functionalities including CHARM, EWA, Monitoring, System Recommendations, and Change Control Management. Experience using Signavio for business process modeling and process governance. Experience with LeanIX for enterprise architecture management, application portfolio mapping, and landscape documentation. Manage SAP High Availability (HA) & Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies. Optimize HANA database performance, backup, and restore strategies. Knowledge of Linux, Windows, and cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP). Familiarity with SAP security, patching, and encryption methodologies. Performance Optimization & System Security: Analyse and improve SAP system performance, load balancing, and scalability. Optimize memory management, SAP buffers, work processes, and background jobs. Conduct security audits, role-based access control (RBAC), and risk assessments. Ensure SAP systems comply with GDPR, SOX, ISO, and industry regulations. Cloud & Infrastructure Management: Support SAP Cloud deployments (SAP BTP, Azure, AWS, GCP, or private cloud). Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for SAP automation using Ansible/Terraform. Manage hybrid cloud integrations and connectivity between on-prem & cloud SAP environments Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. Ability to work under pressure in a high-availability production environment. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Leadership experience in guiding SAP Basis teams and collaborating with cross-functional teams Ideally, you’ll also Practical experience managing SAP workloads on Azure or AWS (VM management, storage classes, networking, monitoring). Exposure to SAP Cloud ALM (CALM) for monitoring, operations, and change control. Experience in SAP Data Archiving (OpenText, ILM). Certifications: SAP Technology Associate (SAP Basis, HANA). SAP Cloud Certifications (RISE, BTP, HANA Cloud). Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP).
