Senior Consultant – Corporate Tax
The opportunity
As our Senior Consultant you will get great opportunities to work across a range of industries and clients including corporate groups, trusts, privately owned business, and high net wealth families to help shape and enhance business strategies and solve tomorrow’s tax problems today.
This is a hybrid position based in Canberra. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.
Your key responsibilities
We are looking for experienced Senior Consultants to join our market leading tax practice in our Tax team. It’s an exciting time to join our high performing and growing team. The role will deliver great opportunities for you to work across a range of clients and projects both autonomously and as a valued member of our team, collaborating with tax network. By joining our team you will be mentored by some of the best in this field to gain the skills and experience to become a trusted advisor, bringing the best of EY to our clients to deliver value add solutions and insights.
You will be central to helping our clients understand complex tax legislation by providing services assisting them to plan and meet their corporate tax compliance obligations. As a Senior Consultant in the Tax team, you will be central to delivering pragmatic solutions to help our clients solve complex income tax challenges and efficiently manage their tax responsibilities. Your responsibilities will encompass:

Delivering tax compliance, including preparation and review of income tax returns and tax accounting calculations, financial statements, tax planning, employment taxes, and advisory services. Providing a comprehensive range of tax advisory services, dealing with complex tax matters including exposure to international tax issues. Covering extensive range of diverse clients and entity types such as trusts, companies, partnerships, and individuals.

Assist in the delivery of the full spectrum of taxation advisory services tailored to client needs, including ATO risk reviews, audits, and ruling application processes, with the backing of Australia’s top tax technicians.

Be a point of contact for our clients, requiring you to collaborate with our specialist teams in bringing expertise to our clients.

Supervise junior team members including consultants and graduates, fostering their learning and contributing to a positive team culture that promotes high performance, collaboration, and celebrates successes
Skills and attributes for success

Relevant tertiary qualifications in Commerce or Accounting
-
CA qualification (or on the path to completing CA or an equivalent qualification)

Minimum 3+ years experience providing Australian tax compliance or business advisory services to corporate entities, high-wealth high-net worth individuals and private family groups
