General Ledger Accountant with German
Location: Wroclaw - 2 days office / 3 days remote

Finance role supporting one of the EMEIA regions – Europe West, with a focus on Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
The “General Ledger Controller/Accountant” is an integral and crucial role in the Finance Team. The role is responsible for supporting several business priorities. Perform tasks such as accounting support of the period-end close with SAP, and being proficient in analysis and reporting.
Due to margin taxation under §25 UStG, we are seeking a central resource to actively support our various accounting teams with the implementation of §25 UStG. This includes, among other things, corrections in the accounts payable area, the creation of internal group recharges, and support in identifying travel services within the payroll tax related process (event team). Additionally, this role will help with the proper identification and handling of bookings for business events, especially with regard to correct VAT treatment. The position will be responsible for all entities within our EY Group Germany and serve as a central point of contact in this matter.

Your key responsibilities

Preparation of monthly bookings and supporting the finance team during month-end close with SAP

Analyse P&L and balance sheet accounts on a regular and ad hoc basis

Participation in FY-end close, such as supporting the preparation and process of inventory review for external engagements

Participation in ongoing transformation projects within the accounting finance function
To qualify for the role, you must have

Bachelor’s degree and/or professional certification in a business-related subject matter (i.e. Accounting, Finance)

First experience in internal cost accounting or willingness to extend General Ledger Accounting knowledge;

3+ years of experience in finance, controlling or similar roles

Confident use of MS Office software package (including MS Excel, Access and PowerPoint)

Good knowledge of German and English, both written and spoken

Understanding of financial administrative processes; monitoring the quality of the implementation of workprocesses and procedures, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and reporting these to the team leader
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Knowledge of SAP-FI and SAP-CO would be an advantage
