Senior DevOps Engineer

Location: Katowice - 2 days office / 3 days remote

We are looking for Senior DevOps Engineers to join our TechOps team. DevOps is one of the core practices within the Cloud Operations competency with the following key offerings:

• Continuous Integration & Continuous Deployment CI/CD

• Environment Provisioning (On Prem/Cloud)

• Automated Infrastructure via IaC

• Monitoring & Logging and Site Reliability

As Senior DevOps engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on industry leading greenfield and/or brownfield implementations that meets the highest DevOps standards providing best user experience to EY clients across the globe. You have a passion for automation and try to implement it at every turn.

Your key responsibilities

• The following non-exhaustive list of Key Deliverables, are applicable to this Role

• Develop infrastructure-as-code (IaC) automation (in particular with Terraform) to create IaC patterns and modules

• Utilize modern software DevOps and CI/CD tooling, such as Azure DevOps, Git, YAML, etc., to provision infrastructure resources and prevent configuration drift

• Investigate and resolve complex cloud infrastructure related issues and recommend and develop solutions to issues and create documentation of reengineering processes as required

• Manage firewall technologies and develop automation workflows for network firewalls to enhance security protocols and integrate firewall management within the broader security strategy

• Develop, implement, and enforce Policy-as-Code (PaC) for Azure cloud environments to configure, detect, remediate, and enforce security standards, using security policies based upon CIS/NIST industry benchmarks

• Support the design, development, implementation and optimisation of standardised CI/CD pipelines for promoting software into higher environments through validation and operational gating, and support teams in adopting Dev Sec Ops automation and best practices

• Adapting CI/CD processes to meet the needs of a variety of Product teams, ensuring compliance with security and process quality gates

• Selecting and deploying appropriate Dev Sec Ops tooling to facilitate Continuous Delivery

• Trial and evaluate new platforms, languages, frameworks and tools for CI/CD flow

• Assist in the roll-out and deployment of new product features and installations to facilitate our rapid iteration and constant growth

Skills and attributes for success

• Proven experience in cloud computing (Microsoft Azure)

• Proven experience in cloud networking automation

• Proven experience in terraform Infrastructure as code automation

• Experience with Azure networking tools (V-WAN, VNET, BGP, etc.)

• Proven understanding of Dev Sec Ops concepts, and has implemented or working knowledge of using those skills in an already existing framework

• Strong knowledge for end-to-end DevOps automation via CI/CD pipelines to deploy Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and usage of tools (e.g., ADO, GitHub/Actions, Jenkins, or equivalents)

• Proven ability to manage infrastructure environments, configurations, and IaC scripts to support application pattern and workflows via self-service automation

• Strong understanding of the design, implementation and maintenance of network infrastructure in multi-region and multi-cloud environments

• Proficiency in scripting languages: Python, Perl, Ruby, PowerShell, YAML, KQL, or other

• Proficiency in Waterfall and Agile, Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc. delivery methodologies

• Knowledge and experience in testing automation harnesses and frameworks

• Understanding and ability to ensure operational stability and enforcement of security controls via Policy-as-Code and IaC automation

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline with 4-6 years’ of experience
