EY- GDS - Data and Analytics – Snowflake Architect Manager – Cloud + DBT

As part of our EY-GDS D&A (Data and Analytics) team, we help our clients solve complex business challenges with the help of data and technology. We dive deep into data to extract the greatest value and discover opportunities in key business and functions like Banking, Insurance, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Retail, Manufacturing and Auto, Supply Chain, and Finance.

The opportunity

We’re looking for a candidate with 10+ years with strong architect expertise into Cloud Data Engineering Platforms and delivery lead

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Lead architecture, design, and delivery of enterprise Snowflake data platform implementations integrated with dbt-based transformation frameworks.

• Define Snowflake + dbt reference architectures, modeling standards, and best practices across cloud environments (AWS/Azure).

• Design and implement Snowflake security integrations including RBAC, OAuth, SAML, and enterprise access governance models.

• Implement data protection frameworks including Dynamic Masking, Tag-Based Masking, and row-level security policies.

• Architect scalable ingestion pipelines using Snowpipe, event-driven integrations, and cloud storage services feeding dbt transformation layers.

• Lead legacy data migration initiatives from Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, and Cassandra to Snowflake with dbt-driven ELT modernization.

• Own enterprise dbt platform adoption, including project structure, model layering (staging, marts), testing frameworks, documentation, and deployment strategies.

• Design metadata-driven dbt transformation frameworks and reusable data modeling patterns.

• Implement CI/CD pipelines for dbt deployments, version control standards, and automated testing workflows.

• Architect workflow orchestration solutions using Apache Airflow / Astronomer for dbt job scheduling and dependency management.

• Implement data quality, validation, reconciliation, and auditing frameworks using dbt tests and custom macros.

• Drive Snowflake and dbt performance optimization including query tuning, warehouse sizing, incremental models, materialization strategies, and cost governance.

• Design and manage advanced Snowflake capabilities including Dynamic Tables, Streams, Tasks, Iceberg Tables, External Tables, UDFs, and Stored Procedures.

• Enable secure Snowflake Data Sharing and downstream analytics consumption from dbt-curated data models.

• Lead and mentor Snowflake and dbt engineering teams to ensure delivery quality and best practice adoption.

• Act as technical escalation point and lead customer architecture discussions related to Snowflake + dbt solution design.

• Support pre-sales activities including RFP responses, technical proposals, architecture presentations, and dbt-based solution demonstrations.

To qualify for the role, you must have:

• BE / BTech / MCA with 10+ years of overall IT experience.

• Strong hands-on experience in Snowflake architecture and enterprise cloud data platform implementations.

• Advanced expertise in dbt (Core/Cloud) including modular modeling, snapshots, seeds, macros, tests, documentation, and environment management.

• Proven experience designing enterprise-scale dbt transformation frameworks following analytics engineering best practices.

• Strong experience with Apache Airflow / Astronomer for orchestrating dbt workflows and end-to-end data pipelines.

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, data integration, and governance initiatives.

• Experience working with data governance and catalog platforms such as Alation, IBM IGC, EDC, ASG, or similar tools.

• Strong understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks including GDPR, HIPAA, BCBS, and ACCORD.

• Experience producing data lineage reports, business glossaries, and data dictionaries integrated with dbt documentation lineage features.

• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and cloud-native data services.

• Strong exposure to real-time or near real-time data processing architectures.

• Proven ability to manage customer-facing architecture engagements and complex stakeholder discussions.

• Strong understanding of enterprise data architecture best practices and high-performance data warehouse environments.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and technical presentation skills.

• Strong communication, presentation and team building skills and experience in producing high quality reports, papers, and presentations.

• Experience in executing and managing research and analysis of companies and markets, preferably from a commercial due diligence standpoint.
