The opportunity

We currently have an excellent career opportunity in our Trinidad office for the position of Accounts Payables. The selected candidate must have a broad knowledge of accounting and finance concepts and utilize independent judgment to complete assignments and resolve issues relating to Accounts Payables.

Your key responsibilities

• Processing of payments in accordance with the company policy

• Ensure invoices are approved and processed in accordance with the company policy

• Perform general accounting activities including reconciliation and analysis of accounts payable general ledger accounts

• Review of payments

• Preparation of vendor reconciliation statements and following up on outstanding items

• Generate reports related to Accounts Payables

• Enter journals related to Accounts Payables transactions

• Timely preparation of Statutory payments

• Provide information for cash flow statements

• Assist with the accurate and timely close of accounting cycle related to Accounts Payables

• Assist with special projects as required and any other ad hoc duties that may arise

Skills and attributes for success

• Ability to understand the expectations of customers and deliver quality service within the policy guidelines

• The ability to identify and resolve issues that impact the deliverable of Accounts Payables

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• A positive, "can-do" attitude and approach to responsibilities; the ability to assist and support leadership in addressing new challenges and changes

• Strong teamwork, collaboration, and support skills across different organizational teams

What we look for

• Currently pursuing a professional accounting qualification i.e. ACCA, CA, CIMA, CPA

• Approximately 3-5 years’ Accounts Payable experience in a professional environment
