The Financial Services International Tax and Transaction Services (ITTS) team is a multicultural group of tax professionals, based in Hong Kong but working extensively with the EY network across APAC and globally, serving international banks and asset managers.
Come and join us, a network of international tax professionals which helps to manage all aspects of clients’ internal tax function, including transaction support, tax advice on changing legislation, communicating and understanding emerging tax matters, managing tax risks for global businesses and meeting ongoing tax compliance obligations.
Our clients are large, complex international banks and asset managers, who operate in a fast paced, international environment.
Your responsibilities will include:

Provide tax advice and support on a range of transactions and financial products

Review clients’ existing practices with a view to developing industry-leading tax control framework

Assist clients to develop and maintain processes, procedures and supporting documentation to support and manage tax risk across Asia-Pacific

Work with EY member firms to understand changes to tax legislation, regulations and practice across Asia-Pacific, and consider and communicate the impact to our clients

Coordinate with internal and external parties to ensure the timely delivery of sophisticated deliverables to clients

Build client relationships and demonstrate knowledge of client business

Provide timely and high-quality services and work products that exceed client expectations.

Build on technical competence by keeping up to date on trends, developments and technical authorities and apply them to complex situations

To qualify for the role you must have
- An undergraduate degree, preferably with an emphasis in accounting, taxation, economics, finance or law (an advanced degree in economics, law, tax or accounting is desirable)
- 2 years above Hong Kong Tax compliance or relevant tax advisory experience gained from sizable public accounting firm or financial industry
- Experience in the banking industry/asset management is desirable, but not essential
- Experience across multiple jurisdictions would be an advantage
- Strong tax technical skills (Hong Kong tax technical preferred but not required)
- Strong negotiation skills, able to sustain opinion and handle challenges
- Team player with strong communication skills
Ideally, you’ll also have
Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines
