GDS EY-P – Strategy And Execution (S&E) - DM – Energy

Within SaT, S&E DM team services clients with a full range of hands-on, operationally focused support and advice across the transaction life cycle, across buyers and sellers. We cover a wide range of operational aspects, including integration and divestiture advisory services, carve-out readiness and support, operational due diligence, synergy assessment and delivery, day-one readiness assessment, 100-day planning, integration process support, carve-out/stand-alone costs assessment and risks, and cost reduction. Our professionals work on transactions and business development across the globe.

The opportunity

We’re looking for professionals with an understanding of the M&A life cycle, carve-out/integration of energy businesses (upstream, midstream, downstream, OFS, power & utilities, renewables/energy transition), and cross-border M&A in the US Energy sector. Your key responsibilities

• Understanding of US Energy & Utilities sector, including, value chain, industry structure, key performance indicators, regulations governing the sector

• Adept at using data analysis and visualization tools to present key insights for client meetings

• Demonstrate excellent skills in project execution, including synergy assessment, project management, problem-solving, and facilitation

• Identify and assist in business development activities including preparing presentations for client and internal pursuit meetings

• Support execution of the carve-out / integration plan while working to constantly identify areas for improvement, including resolving integration issues

• Manage client engagement teams executing S&E DM services which support key decision makers in developing and executing their transaction strategy to secure deal value

• Provide guidance on projects and mentor a team of S&E DM professionals

• Conduct timely performance reviews for employees and develop other professionals by providing effective performance feedback and training

Skills and attributes for success

• Understanding of US Energy & Utilities sector, including, value chain, industry structure, key performance indicators, regulations governing the sector

• Adept at using data analysis and visualization tools to present key insights for client meetings

• Possess financial analysis experience from a number of pre- and post-deal transactions, with the ability to link detailed operational analysis to P&L, cash flow and balance sheet

• Understanding of M&A life cycle, carve-out / integration of a business post-announcement of transaction, cross-border M&A

• Understanding of synergy identification and tracking (cost/revenue), benefits baselining, and value realization governance

• Excellent problem solving, project management, facilitation and interpersonal skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Post Graduate degree in business, accounting, finance, engineering, computer science or related field from a premier institute with 4-6 years of applicable industry and/or consulting experience

• Techno-functional experience of Finance & Accounting domain to undertake accounting, reporting and other financial analysis related work

• Understanding of M&A life cycle, carve-out / integration of a business post-announcement of transaction, cross-border M&A

• Well versed with MS Excel and PowerPoint

• Working knowledge of data visualization tools, such as PowerBI/Visio etc.

• Willingness to undertake international travel as per business requirement

Ideally, you’ll also have

• The role requires practical, responsible use of AI to improve delivery quality and speed
