About the Houston
Exxon Mobil's state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.
By bringing many global functional groups together, the campus provides employees with the tools and capabilities needed today, and in the future, to achieve business objectives and accelerate the discovery of new resources, technologies and products. The campus is located in Spring, Texas, on 385 wooded acres immediately to the west of Interstate Highway 45 (I-45), at the intersection of I-45 and the Hardy Toll Road, approximately 25 miles from the cultural vibrancy of downtown Houston.

What role you will play in our team
As a Permian Water Infrastructure Negotiator, you will be responsible to identify and pursue opportunities that deliver portfolio synergies, create optionality, and generate value for the Exxon Mobil water portfolio. Top priorities are to develop and cultivate relationships with counterparties to lead structuring, negotiation and execution of high-value deals in support of Exxon Mobil’s Upstream Unconventional business. The portfolio has responsibility for a regional subset of the total portfolio, with specific responsibility for Midland Basin Water. The role is office-based in Spring, TX and will involve travel.
What you will do
Contract Development / Management
-
Negotiate and execute water agreements consistent with Exxon Mobil commercial strategies; lead negotiations on deals with third parties that include embedded options accretive to Exxon Mobil portfolios and asset base
-
Handle water portfolio across Exxon Mobil’s Unconventional portfolio
-
Identify new opportunities and execute opportunity flow
Business Development
-
Support asset development by creating takeaway strategies for areas of development
-
For development in areas with existing contracts/dedications, coordinate third party infrastructure connections and complete associated contracting
-
Identify, negotiate, and execute value accretive contracts that leverage Exxon Mobil midstream assets (including third-party volumes)
Relationship Management
-
Develop and maintain strong business relationships with key customers and third party contacts
-
Represent Exxon Mobil in the relevant area of business in the market; develop relationships with new potential suppliers, and understand available market opportunities

Optimize general interest and cross functional returns through interactions with value chain partners
-
Maintain and enhance knowledge of Permian Water Infrastructure market fundamentals and standard industry contracting practices
-
Execute portfolio strategies to improve Upstream portfolio based on flow assurance needs (focusing on high grading for maximum general interest)
About You
-
Exxon Mobil is seeking applicants with Upstream oil and gas knowledge and 10+ years of commercial experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, Management, Supply Chain, Marketing or equivalent degree

Applicants must have excellent collaboration, communication and interpersonal skills and can deliver results in a performance-driven and team-oriented environment

Significant experience and interest in commercial transactions is desired

Effective negotiation and influencing skills; strong commercial negotiation skill set

Strong critical thinking skills; ability to exercise business judgement/make sound decisions

High commitment to identify, define, and execute opportunities to capture market

Deep knowledge of how to develop and execute commercial agreements

Significant experience and interest in commercial transactions is desired; Business economics / Analysis required

Ability to understand / support multiple opportunities across unconventional portfolio

Mature understanding of produced water and supply water operations
