About Houston

Exxon Mobil's state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.

What role you will play in our team

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Counsel ready to take on complex challenges within a Fortune 50 multinational corporation. You will gain a wide variety of experience, work on dynamic projects and develop value-added tax strategies. Business line and finance managers will look to you for advice regarding major transactions, tax policy trends and tax savings opportunities. What will you do

- Develop and implement tax planning strategies that align with business objectives through collaboration with key stakeholders

- Stay updated on tax laws, policies, regulations and industry trends

- Analyze business operations, transactions and investments and identify potential tax issues, opportunities and risk management strategies associated with global value chains

- Support tax-related matters associated with mergers, acquisitions and divestments

- Analyze complex tax issues and recommend practical and strategic solutions

- Distill recent legislation and regulations into practical guidance for our tax compliance organization to assist our corporation in complying with an ever-changing and complex tax environment

About you

We are seeking an attorney with a strong background in value-chain tax, who possesses the following qualifications:

Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of tax planning experience

• Minimum of a J.D.

• Licensed to practice law in at least one state

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience

• Tax LL.M. preferred

• Strong project management skills

• Adds value by collaborating effectively with colleagues, clients and other support functions

• Shares knowledge to develop capabilities of the whole team
