Exxon Mobil in China

Exxon Mobil has a long history in China dating back to 1892 when its predecessor Standard Oil began marketing kerosene to light the Mei Foo lamps at Chinese homes. Today, Exxon Mobil’s business portfolio in China spans the full spectrum of the industry, from upstream to downstream, chemicals and technology center.

Exxon Mobil has a long-term commitment to China through investments, products, technologies and partnerships, helping meet China’s growing demand for energy and petrochemical products.

Research & Development

Exxon Mobil Shanghai Technology Center (STC) opened in 2011 to develop and deliver innovative solutions to customers throughout China and Asia Pacific. In April 2018, we completed the multi-million dollar expansion of STC. The expansion includes a new, state-of-the-art research and development facility to support customer growth through collaboration and innovation.

On February 15, 2023, Exxon Mobil broke ground on construction of a new technology center at the Dayawan Petrochemical Industrial Park. Dayawan Technology Center will focus on developing new high performance products and innovative processes to bring products to commercial scale.

What you will do

• Fully compliance with all company policies, including safety, control, data integrity, etc.

• Responsible for sample management, preparation, testing and experimentation, ensure data accuracy and traceability, appropriate data analysis

• Responsible for equipment maintenance, including but not limited to periodical calibration, preventative maintenance, trouble shooting, regular communication with suppliers, etc.

• Close collaboration with application development engineers and research scientists; proactively participate in technical projects

• Other tasks that relevant to the job

About you

• Bachelor or Master in Chemistry, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Polymer or relevant majors preferred. Master’s degree will be preferred

• Experiences related to material or polymer science are preferred

• Enthusiastic, team player, "can-do" attitude, self-motivated

• Be patient and resilient, strong willingness and ability to learn new things

• Strong logic thinking and good problem solving skills

• Attention to details and accuracy

• Sound interpersonal skills

• Be able to read and write report in English, be able to communicate in English orally
