Expedia Global Payments (EGP) is looking for top engineering talent to help build and evolve our global payment platforms. Our systems operate at the core of a highly distributed ecosystem, processing over $100B annually across 35+ currencies, enabling seamless transactions for millions of travelers and partners worldwide.

We are building a **next-generation Payment Platform (MCKO / OneCPM)**that powers complex global payment scenarios (Credit Cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc.). This is a UI-heavy full stack role where you will lead frontend architecture and user experience, while also owning backend services and end-to-end delivery.

What you'll do:

• Design and build end to end solutions that are rich, scalable, and performant.

• Own and evolve reusable UI components and payment flows, ensuring consistency, accessibility, and high-quality user experience.

• Build and integrate GraphQL APIs and clients (Apollo or similar) to power efficient, flexible data fetching for UI.

• Contribute to backend services and APIs (Kotlin/Java/Node) supporting UI workflows and payment processing.

• Work on server-side rendering (SSR) and optimize performance across devices, geographies, and client integrations.

• Participate in end-to-end system design, balancing frontend experience with backend scalability, resiliency, and operational needs.

• Take strong ownership of production systems, including monitoring, alerting, on-call participation, and incident resolution.

• Build and enhance observability (logs, metrics, tracing) to proactively detect and prevent issues.

• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with urgency, ensuring minimal customer and partner impact.

• Continuously improve system reliability, deployment safety, and operational processes (CI/CD, rollback strategies, feature flags).

• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and partner teams to deliver intuitive and reliable user journeys.

• Mentor junior engineers and drive best practices across frontend, backend, and operations.

Minimum Qualification

• 5+ years of experience in software development with strong frontend and backend expertise.

• Deep experience in React.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, and modern UI development practices.

• Strong, hands-on experience with GraphQL (Apollo or similar), including schema design, query optimization, and client integration.

• Strong understanding of web fundamentals: performance optimization, accessibility, responsive design.

• Experience building and maintaining scalable frontend architectures and component libraries.

• Experience working in high-scale, multi-tenant, 24x7 production systems where reliability is critical.

• Strong understanding of operational excellence: monitoring, alerting, incident management, and root cause analysis.

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and distributed systems.

• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design.

• Ability to lead technical discussions, code reviews, and design decisions.

• Proven track record of delivering high-quality, resilient, user-facing systems in production.

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise with backend technologies such as Java/Kotlin, Node.js, and building REST/GraphQL APIs.

• Familiarity with SSR, SPA architectures, and state management solutions.
