Primary Purpose
**This role involves managing the processes for acquiring, tracking, and reporting on permits, railroad permissions, easements, and real estate needed for the execution of construction projects and programs.**It includes providing process improvement analysis and collaborating to develop efficiencies and risk assessments from a permitting perspective. The role acts as the primary interface with municipal, county, and state permitting agencies, executing communications and outreach activities to improve permit approval timeliness and resolve obstacles through strategic relationship building. These efforts aim to proactively coordinate with jurisdictions to successfully obtain permits and execute processes in collaboration with internal partners such as Projects and Contracts, Real Estate, External Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, and Legal.
Additionally, this position will collaborate with the Senior Business Analyst supporting permitting data tracking to assist with information that will inform the development of the permitting tracking tool. The role is also responsible for documenting proficiencies that will improve the process for acquiring permits.
This position requires may require extended hours during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.
Primary Duties

Job Scope
Requires detailed knowledge of Company’s service territory, external political and government structures, BGE’s electric and gas operations and customer service policies. Requires development of effective relationships across all business units of company and with decision makers in the governmental, business and community sectors. Position utilizes communication, organization, and facilitation skills. High degree of confidentiality is associated with the position. Work involves a moderate degree of independent decision-making, creativity, flexibility and ability to respond to emergencies on a 24/7 basis, as needed, and to attend to off-hour meetings/events. Much of the work is high-pressured with time constraints.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in political science, communications, business administration, and/or public relations AND 4-7 years related experience in governmental affairs, customer service, communications, or relevant utility experience OR, in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, 6-9 years relevant experience is required.

Proven ability to work in cross-functional teams, with experience in project management. Requires strong organizational skills.

Strong communications skills – both written and oral.

Demonstrated skills in Microsoft products including Excel and PowerPoint

Annual salary will vary based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $82,400.00/Yr. – $113,300.00/Yr.
