Software Component Technology is the appointed organization for Ericsson globally to introduce third party software components (3PP SW) into Ericsson systems for usage within Ericsson products.
The Software Component Advisor (SCA) supports the execution of Ericsson policy and licensing obligations for third party software across multiple global programs. The SCA is responsible for performing risk analysis and documenting of software components used by R&D throughout Ericsson. The two main categories of SW components are free open source (FOSS) and commercial software (COTS).

The main areas of responsibility are:

  • Software maintenance: Identify, analyze, classify, and maintain software components according to Ericsson's Directives and policies
  • Evaluate software licenses and ensure proprietary software is protected from license infringement risks
  • Register software products and license key structures within Ericsson systems.
  • Quality Control: Analyze software source code during intake and maintain accurate documentation and reports
  • Provide consultancy and support to internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
  • Collaborate with global teams to share best practices and drive process improvements.
  • Deliver training and knowledge-sharing sessions to stakeholders
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, quality standards, and reporting requirements
  • Software design: Product lifecycle management and software development, distribution process, including license information

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • University or High School Graduate, preferably in Economics, Informatics, or equivalent experience.
  • Fluent written and spoken English, min. B2 level.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills with capability to identify non-compliance with standards and to resolve complex issues.
  • Knowledge of open-source repositories (Github, GitLab, Maven,etc)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (good Word, Excel, Outlook knowledge).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and knowledge-sharing skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-changing environment with flexibility and resilience.
  • Result-oriented, innovative, with strong attention to detail and integrity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Good knowledge of Free and Open-Source Software (FOSS) and software licensing.
