About us

Ericsson is opening a state‑of‑the‑art R&D center in Yokohama focused on Radio and Software development. This new hub will support leading Japanese CSPs, partner with local vendors and deliver Japan‑driven products and solutions that shape networks worldwide. We are establishing and growing the team and building advanced laboratory and office facilities. We are hiring across different experience levels — from early‑career engineers to experienced developers and technical leaders.

The opportunity

We are looking for passionate and driven verification engineers to join our organization and help shape the performance of Ericsson’s next generation radio products. As an EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) Verification engineer, you will ensure Ericsson base stations meet global EMC emission and immunity requirements. You will configure and operate base stations and nodes according to Verification Specifications (VS) and standards, perform internal verification, coordinate certification at accredited external test labs, troubleshooting issues, and contribute to development of test methods and verification tooling. You will work with standards and regulatory bodies (3GPP, ETSI, ANSI, FCC) to align test approaches and prepare for next-generation needs such as 6G.

Your our work will be essential to guarantee that our radio solutions meet 3GPP, ETSI, CE, and FCC requirements and deliver world-class performance.

In this role, you will also take part in shaping test requirements and developing robust verification methods that ensure our radio hardware consistently delivers the performance our customers expect. Key responsibilities

• Configure base stations and radio/baseband nodes per Verification Specifications (VS) and applicable standards for EMC emission and immunity test cases

• Plan, execute and document internal EMC verification activities; coordinate certification testing at accredited external test labs

• Operate RF instrumentation and test systems, perform RF measurements and digital signal analysis

• Troubleshoot failures, perform root-cause analysis and provide technical support to product teams and customers

• Contribute to development, pre‑development and validation of test methods, tooling, automation and verification processes (including preparation for future generations such as 6G)

• Provide early compliance guidance to product design teams to reduce rework and accelerate market access

Who we’re looking for

We welcome experienced / senior engineers seeking technical leadership opportunities. Typical skills and background include:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science or related field (BSc/MSc or equivalent)

• Knowledge of baseband and radio product concepts and relevant standards (3GPP/ETSI/CE/FCC)

• Ability to read and apply EMC standards and regulations in test setups

• Strong RF measurement skills and experience with RF instruments

• Proven troubleshooting and methodical problem‑solving skills

• Experience in reading and applying regulatory requirements is a plus

• Programming skills for test automation and tools development is a plus

• Test method design and test environment setup experience

• Familiarity with 3GPP specifications (e.g., NR/ LTE series) and verification needs

• Strong troubleshooting skills, curiosity and a practical, problem‑solving attitude

• Collaboration skills, strong communication and teamwork abilities to interact effectively with development and product engineering teams

• Comfortable working in Lean/Agile processes and driving continuous improvement

• Result-driven with a service-minded and quality-focused approach.

• Ability to work effectively in English; capability to collaborate in Japanese is a strong advantage.

Desirable

• Practical experience with base station, radio and baseband products and wireless systems

• Familiarity with standards work (3GPP, ETSI, ANSI, FCC) related to EMC and RF

• Experience coordinating third‑party testing at accredited labs
