Jobs
About this opportunity
You will join and help lead a newly formed team taking ownership of CI responsibilities to design, build and operate the CI backbone that powers Ericsson’s Radio Access Network (RAN). The role emphasizes delivering robust, scalable pipelines, driving reliability and observability in production-like environments, and mentoring others.
You will partner across networks and teams to keep CI secure and dependable, enabling teams to release with confidence and support networks used by millions. Flexible working and a mission-focused environment provide scope to influence platform direction.
What you will do
-
Lead design and operation of the CI backbone for RAN: architect and implement scalable pipelines, containerized workloads, orchestration, and artifact flows.
-
Own reliability end-to-end: set monitoring and alerting strategies, drive incident response and post-incident improvements, and shape on-call practices.
-
Drive automation and platform improvements: develop tooling, CI/CD operators and integrations that reduce toil and accelerate delivery across teams.
-
Collaborate and influence: work with product owners, engineering teams and platform owners to define interfaces, roadmaps and rollout plans.
-
Mentor and onboard teammates: transfer knowledge, define runbooks and best practices, and help the team take full ownership of the platform.
-
Maintain security and compliance at scale: ensure artifact provenance, access controls and secure build pipelines.
-
Perform periodic weekend on-call duties as part of the team’s operational support responsibilities.
What you will bring
-
Strong, demonstrable experience with CI platforms, containerization/orchestration and artifact management at scale (examples: GitLab, Jenkins, Kubernetes).
-
Advanced programming and automation skills (Python, Go, shell, Groovy or similar) and solid understanding of build systems.
-
Proven operations leadership with experience in incident management, on-call practices and keeping production-like systems healthy.
-
Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and mentor team members.
Nice to have
-
Deep RAN domain knowledge is beneficial but not required; ability to quickly learn domain specifics.
-
Experience running large clusters or platform engineering at scale, and relevant tool or cloud certifications, are desirable.
