About this opportunity:

Development Group Location is hiring, our market leading Architect team is now extending. We are looking for you to secure Ericsson technology leadership in network location. Development Group Location is an established DG with around 150 employees. We are developing the Ericsson Network Location (ENL) product used by more than 120 mobile operators across the globe. We have more than 40% market share, and our market is about to explode, driven by the positioning needs of IoT, 5G and self-driving cars.ENL is providing 2G/3G/4G/5G positioning, supporting regulatory, enterprise and private networks positioning use cases both indoor and outdoor. From early studies and proof-of-concepts to deployment, we are responsible for the complete life cycle of the product. Cloud Native development, modern Software delivery pipelines (CI/CD), automation are all technologies we are using in our daily development practices.
Location Service and Positioning domain focuses on UE / device positioning in 3gpp network with core network focus, and includes other standards as ETSI, ATIS, OMA, etc. Positioning is continuously evolving, even in 3gpp standards. In release 18 eLCS_ph3 and Ranging working items must be followed and driven according to Ericsson business needs. We need to promote and support network-based solutions and steer the standardization direction accordingly. Ericsson Network Location (previously Mobile Positioning System) has been a successful Ericsson product for 20 years. We must continue this success in 5G and 6G technologies by driving standards based on Ericsson needs. In addition, Product Development Unit also needs expertise to steer product development based on standards.

What you will do:

• Handle end to end aspects of location service including:
• Develop studies on E2E and interworking aspects both internal and studies driven by other products
• Support ENL Product management and System management on strategy issues.
• Support Product Management and Sale support on: Clarification on technical issues. Answering customer questions. Participate in customer presentations.
• Secure techncial alignemnt with latest standardization
• Generate High level deisgn from customer demand
• Support development teams to implement the desired solution
• Represent Ericsson as a technical leader in contacts with customers, competitors, partners, and academia.
• Teach, coach, and mentor colleagues on the different aspects of the location service.

The skills you bring:

• Experience with telecom solution and network technologies in general.
• Experience in creating advanced software architectures, redesign and refactoring
• Good command of English
• Experience in C++ and AI
• BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent is required
• Experience in positioning services is an advantage.
• Excellent understanding of network architecture.
• Ability to foster collaboration across organizational boundaries and with external parties.
• Proven ability to balance conflicting priorities.
• Self driven personality with bias to action and decision making.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Scientific publications is an advantage.
