About Epirus
Epirus is a high-growth technology company dedicated to overcoming the asymmetric challenges inherent to the future of national security. Epirus' flagship product, Leonidas, is a software-defined system built using intelligent power management techniques which allow power-hungry systems to do more with less.
Job Summary: This is an exciting role in an innovative, high-growth defense technology company. Under an agile development framework, Technical Project Managers at Epirus serve as both scrum masters and product owners, leading research and development projects from initial planning through delivery of first-article solutions. Epirus products are typically developed ahead of customer involvement and requirements, so engineers rely on product owners, usually a TPM and a Chief Engineer, to understand both short-term priorities and long-term value to the end customer, whom they represent during the R&D phase. In this role, you will work closely with talented engineering and operations teams, reporting to the Manager of Technical Project Management within the Engineering and Technology Organization (ETO).
Responsibilities:
-
Act as the bridge between ETO and other department stakeholders (e.g., marketing, sales, operations) for one or multiple efforts
-
Ensure that teams are aligned on goals and timelines that enable Epirus to build the best products possible
-
Create and own agile/hybrid project plans, including schedules, budgets, and other artifacts
-
Be a servant leader to an interdisciplinary and inter-functional scrum to ensure the team delivers the highest value to Epirus and its customers
-
Remove obstacles and find creative ways to do things better, faster, and more efficiently
-
Track the delivery of technical features, ensuring that milestones and deadlines are met. Report progress to relevant stakeholders
-
Identify potential risks, dependencies, and obstacles, and work proactively to resolve them before they impact the timeline or deliverables
-
Drive company goals by both delivering on company promises while also foreseeing future opportunities and shaping technology products to be more effective
Basic Qualifications:
-
B.S. in Engineering or a related technical field AND minimum 5 years of relevant project management experience, especially in high-growth startups and aerospace
-
Experience with the deployment and integration of hardware and software systems
-
Experience with building, leading, and developing small teams of engineers
-
Prior systems engineering or software integration experience
-
Prior experience hosting and leading both technical and non-technical reviews with cross-functional audiences
-
Prior experience building and managing project assets like schedules, budgets, and risk registers
Preferred Skills and Experience:
-
Previous experience using JIRA or other agile-enabling software platforms
-
Proficient in MS Project and/or Smartsheet use
-
PMP or CAPM certification
-
Engineering or Operations leadership program graduate or related experience
-
Previous work on DoD Projects
-
Experience with design, development, and/or validation of PCBAs is a plus
-
Superior communication skills
-
Collaborative; capable of working across all levels of the organization with limited resources
-
Organized, comfortable setting, and achieving goals in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
ITAR REQUIREMENTS:
To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
At Epirus, you’ll work with technical peers and great people—and get first crack at some of the defining technology challenges of our time. Here, “impossible” is just a challenge. We're a diverse, fast-growing team of change-makers fueling the future of energy with revolutionary solutions. Join us and rewrite the rules.

how do you think Pyrrhus of Epirus and Selecus I Nicator; both enemies of Rome, would have reacted to the existience of Eastern Roman/Byzantine Empire?
A bit silly or abstract question, but nonetheless it fascinates me deeply. Both of them were two mortal enemies of Roman republic who both have lost against it bitterly, and also they were both Hellenistic Greek and hated anything Roman. It begs the question of how would they viewed and thought about, if for the case of the hypothetical lets say someone from the future would have told them about the later development of Rome, and the Byzantine empire in general. As a state that is Rome and Roman

Why is pyrrhus of epirus held in such high regard as an enemy of Rome?
So I will admit compared to people like Hannibal or arminius my knowledge of pyrrhus is more spotty. However when I made a post asking who was your favorite enemy of Rome this man's name came up multiple times. My question is why is he so renowned? Although my knowledge of him is relatively spotty I know that he won only two victories against the Romans both of which were too costly to him, he invaded rome to help out Greek city-states and as an excuse to make his own empire, that his victories
