The SYSS Engineering Group in Latin America provides fully engineered control system solutions for power and process plants in the Americas. The group focuses on installing and replacing plant control systems with Emerson DCS’s (Delta V & Ovation) and Reliability and SCADA Solutions providing engineering design, system integration, testing and commissioning services to deliver comprehensive solutions to our customers. The successful candidate will be an essential part of the group with responsibilities of participating in projects supporting regional offices such us Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and also US Offices.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Read and interpret process drawings (PFD, P&ID).
• Perform and Lead engineering activities related to Distributed Control Systems Configuration, SCADA Systems and Industrial Software Solutions within Emerson System & Software Portfolio
• Take part in project implementation following the QMS system requirements.
• Generate project documentation.
• Plans and coordinates technical design and engineering implementation of project work.
• Participates in the execution of procedures for factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, commissioning, and startup activities.
• Being able to Lead Complex Projects overseeing resources from Latin America & other Eng Centers.
• Being able to Lead activities like factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, commissioning, and startup.
• Lead and oversee the project team towards a successful execution ensuring high customer satisfaction.
• Interface directly with internal and external customers to determine scope definition, schedules and Engineering Budget.
• Promote Adoption of Productivity tools as well as actively seek for alternatives to save hours during execution.
• Actively participates in maintaining and improve the group KPIs such us budget performance, customer satisfaction and quality
• Prepare of Functional Specifications, definition of project scope, review of design inputs.
• Share technical knowledge with project team, supervisor, own discipline and other engineering disciplines.

For This Role, You Will Need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Electromechanical, Mechatronics, or Chemical engineering from an accredited university
• 2+ years of experience with PLC, SCADA or DCS Systems
• Intermediate English.
• Travel time 60%
• PLC configuration and programming knowledge.
• Instrumentation and ISA symbology knowledge.
• Organized, Customer focus, Problem Solving.
• Good interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
• A good business understanding and the ability to work effectively with internal and external customers.

Preferred qualifications that set you apart:

• Knowledge of communication protocols like OPC, Modbus, Profibus, FF, HART is a plus.
• Basic knowledge on programming Visual Basic, JAVA, URD, C++ is a plus.
• Experience in Food or Beverage Processing, Chemical, Bio-Tech, Oil and gas, Petrochemical and Pharmaceutical industries is a plus.
• Basic-Intermediate level of Portuguese is a plus
• Good knowledge in virtualization & Networking (switching & routing) is a plus.
