If you are an accounting professional looking for an opportunity to grow your career, Emerson’s Professional Tools has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in Orange, VA, this role supports the Plant Controller and plays a key part in interpreting and reporting manufacturing costs, supporting monthly and annual financial processes, and contributing to forecasting, budgeting, and product costing activities.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Support monthly close activities, including cost‑of‑sales and inventory‑related journal entries, plant expense accruals, allocations, and reporting requirements.
  • Investigate monthly plant variances by reviewing actual versus forecasted expenditures.
  • Assist in preparing and analyzing cost reports, budgets, and financial performance data.
  • Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
  • Provide routine reporting and analysis of plant efficiency metrics.
  • Support internal audit activities, including reconciliation of the annual physical inventory.
  • Assist in implementing financial systems, policies, and procedures as needed.
  • Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or a related field.
  • Experience working with ERP systems.
  • A strong sense of accountability, with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting and inventory control practices, and experience managing accounting procedures and controls.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • A master’s degree, MBA, or related advanced education.
  • Two or more years of financial or cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Oracle E‑Business Suite (manufacturing and Financials) and/or JD Edwards.
