Join Emerson’s Power & Water Solutions team and help shape the future of renewable energy and utility water systems across the Southwest region (Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Oklahoma). Based in our Houston, Texas office, you’ll drive innovation, build strong customer relationships, and deliver advanced automation solutions for the power and water industries—primarily focusing on renewables and utility water markets, while supporting traditional fossil power generation as needed.
As an industry leader in automation controls, Power & Water Solutions specializes in modernizing existing plant control systems (brownfield projects) offering cutting-edge applications for renewable energy (solar, hydro, wind, BESS, geothermal) to ensure sustainability and reliability for North America’s power grid and water infrastructure. We also provide new DCS solutions for greenfield projects, and water treatment facilities. Your expertise in Outside Sales will directly influence growth and strengthen our PWS business.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:- Build and strengthen relationships with Power Generation and Utility Water industry stakeholders, including solution architects, engineers, system integrators, EPCs, owner’s engineers, other Emerson business units, and impact partners.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities by mapping the market and engaging potential customers.
- Collaborate with existing customers to uncover new projects where Emerson PWS solutions deliver value.
- Develop competitive strategies by providing differentiation insights, pricing recommendations, and leading negotiations.
- Deliver technical presentations and demos to showcase new products, enhancements, and services.
- Stay informed on industry trends and share updates with PWS management to guide strategic decisions.
- Execute sales pursuit plans, prepare proposals, and support negotiations to secure new and replacement control system business.
- Represent Emerson at local professional meetings, trade shows, and conferences.
- Recommend tailored technology and service solutions to meet specific customer requirements.
- Achieve annual booking and margin objectives within your territory.
- Drive strategic account development through territory business plans.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts and update the CRM system regularly.

For This Role, You Will Need:- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years of sales experience, preferably in consultative selling.
- Minimum 5 years of industry experience in Power Generation or Utility Water.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 75%.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States - sponsorship will not be provided for this position
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, Chemical Engineering, or a related field in Power Generation. - 10+ years of experience in process control sales, marketing, or related roles within the Power Generation or Utility Water industry (experience in both is highly desirable).
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships at multiple organizational levels (vertical and horizontal).
- Hands-on experience in power plant operations or related environments.
- Exceptional verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers, clients, and key stakeholders.
