Emerson | NI is looking for a Senior Technical Writer to join our Research & Development organization. In this role, you will partner closely with engineers, product managers, and subject matter experts to create clear, accurate, and customer-focused product documentation. You will play a key role in improving how users understand and interact with our products by transforming complex technical information into accessible and usable content.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Create, edit, and maintain high-quality product documentation in line with company standards, including electronic help, online content, and other documentation formats
• Ensure documentation is accurate, clear, complete, and centered on customer needs
• Manage documentation through review cycles and incorporate feedback from stakeholders
• Collaborate with Documentation Project Managers to ensure deliverables align with established project management processes
• Partner with engineers, product managers, and other content experts to gain deep product knowledge
• Act as a documentation subject matter expert and guide stakeholders toward effective content decisions
• Work closely with engineering and project teams to improve documentation usability and overall product experience
• Validate that content meets functional, quality, and consistency requirements
• Prepare content for publishing and support release activities
• Support and troubleshoot help systems as they are integrated into products
• Engage in continuous feedback loops with internal teams and customers to identify opportunities for documentation improvement
• Leverage AI-assisted writing tools to enhance productivity while applying human judgment to ensure clarity, accuracy, and quality

For This Role, You Will Need:

• Strong proficiency in written and spoken English
• Bachelors degree or higher in English, Technical Communication, or other major with writing-intensive component and/or science/technology emphasis
• Professional experience creating technical documentation in a complex, technical environment (3-5 years)
• Demonstrated ability to analyze, structure, and communicate complex information clearly
• Familiarity with structured authoring and markup languages such as XML, DITA, and HTML
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

• Experience using terminology management and writing assistance tools such as Congree and Term Web
• Background working with software, hardware, or engineering-focused products
• Experience contributing to usability improvements through documentation
