Trade compliance represents one of the most intense aspects of engaging in international trade, and failure to maintain it can destroy a company’s reputation and future simultaneously. The person we are looking for will be responsible for the Customs operations for NI China and Taiwan shipments. One of this role’s main responsibility is to ensure our operations are in compliant with regulations and laws of Customs, SAFE and other government agencies, as well as NI and China TC internal policies.
Responsibilities:

Be responsible to make full use of our Automatic declaration tool to transfer the declaration information to import and export broker and independently communicate with broker to ensure accurate and on-time data transition. Utilize the function of price check and work with pricing business team to understand price change reason to determine import value.

Work with classification team to review non-production shipment invoice, applicable SAFE, Customs and NI regulations to provide import and export solutions for shipment requestors

Work on Customs Compliance tasks and problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.

Make use of Automatic declaration tool to conduct internal audit once required.

Receives general instructions on daily work, detailed instructions on case require close attention and tracking.

Proactively communicates status of daily work and report on-going issue to manager.
Position Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Mandarin.
- Strong individual contributor, ability to understand US export control rules and China/Hongkong/Taiwan Customs & trade rules & regulations.
- Ability to manage small projects and generate ideas for continuous improvement. Capable of executing local initiatives from start to finish.
- Ability to detect gaps and propose the needed solutions.
- Ability to learn from mistakes and avoid making same mistakes.
- Ability to effectively multi-task.
- Strong attention to detail and strong interest in learning regulations.
- Initiative to undertake additional responsibilities
- A good team player
- Bachelor’s Degree Required. (Preferred Major: International Trade, Electronic or Mechanical Engineering, International Business, Economics, law, Supply Chain, Logistics or equivalent.)
- Internship experience or import/export related work experience is a plus but not required.
