About the Team:

Global Service Management (GSM) team works to enable Lilly to enhance global productivity and protect our Brand. The team manages the industry leading Service Now enterprise platform. We enable our 69k global workforce to accelerate how they work, manage critical action plans, and enhance their working methods/environment, and manage key vendor contracts / spending.

In addition to maintaining operational excellence for our existing services, we must boldly innovate and enhance capabilities such as generative AI, automation & workflows across the enterprise. This will enable us to enhance our return on investment, improve user efficiency and experience, and help support the broader Company purpose of making life better for people around the world.

What you’ll be doing:

As a Technical Capability Owner for the Service Now platform, you’ll serve as a senior technical SME and strategic leader within our Global Service Management organization. You’ll drive platform innovation, lead technical delivery, and ensure seamless integration across enterprise systems. You’ll collaborate with architects, developers, vendors, and business stakeholders to shape and evolve our Service Now ecosystem.

How You Will Succeed:

  • Platform Leadership: Own the technical roadmap for Service Now capabilities, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and business goals.
  • Solution Delivery: Lead end-to-end technical delivery for new features, including configuration, workflow design, UI customization, reporting, and integrations.
  • Integration Strategy: Architect and implement integrations with LDAP/Active Directory, SSO (SAML, Site Minder), REST/SOAP APIs, cloud platforms (AWS, VMware), and enterprise systems.
  • Governance & Standards: Conduct impact analysis and code reviews to ensure conformance with architecture, data, and integration standards.
  • Collaboration: Partner with Platform Architects, Technical Leads, and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions.
  • Support & Optimization: Provide expert-level troubleshooting and performance tuning across the platform.
  • Documentation & Enablement: Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and mentor junior engineers.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current with Service Now releases and industry trends to drive platform evolution.

What You Will Bring:

  • Deep technical expertise in the Service Now platform, including administration, scripting, and application development.
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, CMDB, and configuration management principles.
  • Proven experience leading technical delivery across the full software lifecycle.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive mindset and commitment to excellence.
  • A passion for mentoring, learning, and driving cross-functional success.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in Service Now development
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Service Now scripting.
  • E xperience with REST/SOAP APIs and integration tools.
  • Fluent in English for verbal and written communications, is essential

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Service Now Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification is a plus
  • Applied knowledge of ITIL v3 or ITIL v4
  • Experience with AWS, VMware, JDBC/ODBC, and enterprise data management.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive platform strategy and cross-functional alignment.
  • A great sense of humor and passion for engaging people.

Travel:

  • 0-10%
  • Availability to work flexible work hours is/may be required.
