The Associate – Supply Chain & Logistics supports the optimization of external warehouse occupancy and contributes to ensuring material availability across the manufacturing network. Working at the intersection of logistics, supply planning, and global stakeholder collaboration, this role plays an important part in enabling reliable supply and on-time delivery to Lilly's customers.

  • The Associate – Supply Chain & Logistics reports to the Manager
  • Materials and External Warehousing and collaborates closely with the Global Logistics Team, Global Supply Chain, and site operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the optimization of external warehouse occupancy based on Business Plan and Supply Plan inputs
  • Support the Global Logistics Team in defining and executing storage strategies across the network
  • Facilitate communication within Global Logistics, Global Supply Chain, and the Site to resolve supply and demand misalignments
  • Perform daily SAP reviews and metric analysis to identify potential and actual material shortages; monitor order progress, material rejections, scrap, and rework
  • Coordinate and execute scheduling activities for assigned part numbers using SAP; maintain MRP modifiers in SAP Master Data / APO
  • Analyze inventory reports to identify slow-moving, overstocked, and obsolete items; monitor inventory levels, accuracy, segregation, and rotation
  • Investigate negative inventory, identify root causes, and coordinate adjustments with the Warehouse department
  • Support transportation logistics for incoming components, helping to balance occupancy load between internal and external warehouses
  • Contribute to building and maintaining relationships with third-party logistics providers; ensure adherence to company standard practices and procedures
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and transformation initiatives across Supply Planning, logistics, distribution, and warehousing
  • Support the rebalancing of stocks across the network and contribute to resolving criticalities with Affiliates
  • Coordinate and monitor returns to global vendors and disposal of raw materials where required
  • Communicate and help resolve exceptions in a timely manner; act on deviations following the established escalation process
  • Collaborate with Procurement to identify cost-out opportunities related to outside purchased materials
  • Support Business Plan preparation by providing data on forecasts, scrap materials, standard cost definitions, and other relevant material-related information

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or a related discipline
  • Experience in supply chain, logistics, or materials planning in a manufacturing or regulated environment
  • Hands-on experience with SAP (MM/PP modules); familiarity with APO is a plus
  • Fluent English, minimum B2 level
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage complexity and drive data-based decisions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of GMP requirements and pharmaceutical manufacturing processes
  • Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams with a results-oriented mindset
  • Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and communication skills
  • Experience working with third-party logistics providers or in an external warehousing context

This position is based on-site, with up to 4 days of remote work per month.
