ABOUT THE ROLE
Consumer Experience & Innovation is a strategic leadership role at the heart of Lilly Brazil's marketing transformation. The Associate Director oversees the Consumer Experience team — including Consumer Managers — and is accountable for building and advancing Lilly Brazil's consumer marketing capability at scale, setting the strategic direction for how the company connects with patients and healthcare consumers across all touchpoints.
Reporting directly to the CMO, this leader partners with brand teams, global strategy counterparts, and a broad ecosystem of external partners — creative and media agencies, digital health start-ups, patient organizations, and technology platforms. The role requires a rare combination of strategic depth, creative ambition, and operational discipline: someone who can translate deep consumer insight into bold, scalable strategies that drive brand awareness, patient engagement, and long-term loyalty.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIESStrategic Leadership & Consumer Vision

Define and lead the consumer marketing strategy for Lilly Brazil, establishing a cohesive vision for patient and HCP consumer engagement across the portfolio.

Oversee Consumer Managers and the broader consumer marketing team, setting priorities, building capability, and fostering a high-performance, insight-driven culture.

Serve as Brazil's senior voice in global consumer marketing forums, influencing global strategy with local market intelligence and ensuring global frameworks are locally relevant.

Identify and champion emerging opportunities in digital health, patient communities, and innovative engagement models that position Lilly Brazil as a consumer marketing leader.
Brand & Patient Engagement

Guide brand teams in developing full-funnel consumer strategies — from awareness and education to activation — grounded in robust patient journey frameworks and behavioral insights.

Lead the development of consumer messaging architecture and creative platform direction, partnering with agencies to ensure consistency, impact, and compliance across all channels.

Drive the design and execution of content-driven campaigns that educate patients, reduce barriers to treatment-seeking, and strengthen brand relevance with end-users.

Oversee the Patient Engagement strategy and its operational execution, ensuring alignment across brand teams, Medical, and cross-functional partners.
Partnerships, Ecosystem & Innovation

Build and govern strategic partnerships with social media platforms, digital KOLs, patient organizations, and health technology partners to expand reach and deepen engagement.

Lead the evaluation and adoption of new consumer engagement solutions — digital ecosystems, co-creation models, AI-powered personalization — based on business needs and patient relevance.

Manage the agency ecosystem — creative, media, and digital partners — ensuring quality, strategic alignment, and cost-effectiveness across all consumer marketing initiatives.
Performance & Governance

Establish performance frameworks and measurement standards for consumer marketing, translating metrics into strategic recommendations for the CMO and brand leadership.

Ensure all consumer marketing activities are executed in full compliance with regulatory, ethical, and Lilly internal standards.

Manage consumer marketing budgets with discipline, ensuring investment allocation is tied to strategic priorities and measurable outcomes.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
-
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or related field.

7+ years of relevant marketing experience, with demonstrated progression into senior strategy and leadership roles within multinational companies.

Proven experience leading and developing marketing teams, including direct management of managers.

Deep expertise in consumer marketing strategy, patient engagement, and full-funnel campaign development.

Strong experience managing creative and media agencies, including briefing, creative evaluation, and performance management.

Demonstrated ability to translate consumer insights and data into compelling, commercially effective strategies.

Experience operating in cross-functional, cross-national environments and influencing senior stakeholders including C-suite.

Advanced English — daily collaboration with global teams and senior leadership presentations.

Fluent Portuguese (written and spoken).
ADDITIONAL PREFERENCES

MBA or postgraduate degree in a relevant field.

Experience in pharma, healthcare, or regulated consumer industries.

Track record building or scaling consumer marketing capabilities from the ground up.

Hands-on experience with digital health ecosystems, social media partnerships, and influencer/KOL strategy.

Familiarity with patient journey mapping, behavioral insights, and human-centered design approaches.

Experience with AI-powered personalization, marketing automation, or emerging consumer engagement technologies.

Demonstrated ability to operate with autonomy and set direction in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
