The Director of Optimization & Enablement plays a critical leadership role within Canada Operations, ensuring operational teams are aligned, equipped, and positioned to deliver both day-to-day excellence and long-term strategic transformation. Reporting into senior Canada Operations leadership, this role drives business enablement through operational optimization, portfolio leadership, and technology execution.
Strategic Enablement
- Align operational capabilities to business unit and enterprise strategy
- Lead business planning and multi-year roadmaps for tools, platforms, and capabilities
- Deliver scalable, compliant solutions enabling both growth and regulatory alignment
Portfolio & Transformation Leadership
- Oversee a portfolio of regulatory and strategic initiatives
- Drive governance, prioritization, and resource optimization
- Ensure transparency through structured reporting and execution discipline
Operational Excellence & Risk Management
- Lead process optimization to improve efficiency, reduce risk, and enhance client/advisor experience
- Oversee quality assurance, control testing, and continuous improvement frameworks
- Leverage data and insights to drive performance outcomes
People Leadership & Capability Building
- Build and lead a high-performing team across run-the-business and transformation initiatives
- Develop talent and foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration
Stakeholder & Industry Engagement
- Partner with senior leaders (Directors, GPs, Executives) across business units and enterprise functions
- Engage with external stakeholders including regulators, vendors, and industry bodies
Technology & Vendor Leadership
- Partner with Technology and external vendors to deliver scalable, efficient solutions
- Govern vendor performance, risk, and value realization
- Champion automation and digital enablement
Financial Stewardship
- Manage budgets and financial performance aligned to business objectives
- Apply disciplined financial decision-making, including risk/return trade-offs
- Identify opportunities for efficiency (OE) and capacity optimization (FTE)
Escalation Leadership
- Serve as a senior escalation point for complex, high-risk operational issues
- 15+ years in financial services, with deep brokerage operations expertise
- 10+ years of leadership experience managing teams and complex initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
Licenses (or ability to obtain)
- CPH (6 months)
- CSC (9 months)
- LLQP (12 months)
- PDO (18 months)
