Qoo10 is Japan’s leading e Commerce platform for beauty and one of the fastest-growing players, becoming the platform of choice for Gen Z in Japan. With 80% of our buyers being women, primarily Gen Z, who are passionate about beauty, we are at the forefront of shaping the future of beauty retail. As a leader in beauty e Commerce, we continuously push the boundaries of what's possible in the online space. From a beauty-centric cataloged database to a live commerce platform, we are transforming how Gen Z discovers and engages with beauty products.
We are seeking a member for the Operation Strategy team. The candidate is expected to drive further growth and innovation as we continue shaping the future of online beauty retail. The candidate will be a creative problem solver, passionate about the beauty industry, able to take ownership of key project workstreams with high levels of intellectual curiosity, and energized by new initiatives with a positive, hands-on attitude. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating in ambiguity, brings an entrepreneurial mindset, and is able to balance strategic thinking with strong execution. Within this role, the candidate will have the ability to identify and execute cross-functional initiatives that drive business growth (including initiatives with e Bay Global teams, live commerce, and other new business opportunities), refine Qoo10 operational strategy, effectively communicate with international teams in English, and deliver impactful reports and presentations.
Job Responsibilities include:
Execution of Cross-Functional Initiatives

Identify and execute large-scale, high-impact cross-functional initiatives that drive business growth: such as live commerce, online/offline events, and new growth opportunities in the beauty business.

Collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including international teams, on new opportunities.
-
Enhance efficiency and operational excellence across the business by introducing and aligning best practices, processes and tools.
-
Bring structure, momentum, and clear follow-through in ambiguous, fast-changing situations.
Operation Strategy Development
-
Support development and refinement of medium-to-long-term operating strategies for priority programs.
-
Translate business goals into actionable roadmaps, requirements, and operational playbooks.
-
Build business cases and recommend tradeoffs (options, risks, dependencies, expected impact) to enable leadership decisions.
-
Partner with stakeholders to move initiatives from idea to execution with clear ownership and milestones.
Operation Analytics
-
Identify and analyze market trends, customer behavior, and operational challenges to diagnose issues and uncover opportunities for improvement.
-
Drive impact by optimizing day-to-day operations, improving overall performance, and contributing to business growth.

Analyze data and industry insights, competitor landscapes to inform and support decision-making.
Market intelligence
- Develop insightful market intelligence about key industry trends (technology, competitors, consumers, and so on).
Reporting & communication

Prepare and deliver executive-level reports and presentations to Qoo10 and e Bay Global leadership teams with compelling storytelling in English and Japanese.

Communicate recommendations clearly and concisely to stakeholders across different functions and seniority levels.
Qualification Requirements:
-
Bachelor's or equivalent experience or master's degree
-
5+ years of relevant professional experience, ideally in consulting, global e Commerce/retail, beauty, business development, trading house, or similar cross-functional roles. Experience that combines strategy/planning with hands-on execution is especially valued.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines, ambiguity, and shifting priorities.
-
Strong analytical skills (ability to structure problems, interpret data, and drive decision-making).
-
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across diverse teams and seniority levels.
-
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in diverse, cross-functional, and global teams.
-
Fluent level of English and Japanese language skill (reading, writing, speaking).
-
Be self-driven, detail-oriented, and able to tackle complex problems in a structured and analytical way within a dynamic business environment.

Positive attitude, strong sense of ownership, and willingness to take on new challenges outside one’s immediate scope.

Able to build trust quickly and collaborate effectively in a multicultural, matrixed team environment.

Strong working knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets and slides (PowerPoint/Google Slides) for executive reporting
Preferred qualifications:

Understanding of corporate finance and/or statistical analytics.

Experience in live commerce, social commerce, marketplace businesses, or launching new initiatives is a plus.
