The Mobile Application Team owns our commitment to empower hobbyists to effortlessly engage with our marketplace, driving growth and loyalty. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will architect and develop exceptional mobile experiences that empower our hobbyists. We are looking for a team member driven by user-centric approaches, innovation, collaboration, agility, and commitment to quality. You will lead the charge in critical architectural and development standard methodologies that define our mobile application products. Your strategic vision and leadership will be key in ensuring our mobile experience is at the forefront of technology and provides unparalleled hobbyists experiences.

What you will accomplish:

• Provide technical expertise for mobile engineering across the organization, influencing architecture, standards, and procedures

• Design, architect independent feature with hands-on develop high-quality native mobile solutions that scale to millions of users

• Partnering with Lead on mobile platform architecture, ensuring security, reliability, performance, and an exceptional user experience

• Influence the mobile technical roadmap, balancing short-term delivery with long-term platform health

• Partner closely with Staff/lead Engineer, designers, backend engineers, cloud platform teams, and ML engineers to deliver cohesive, end-to-end features

• Lead initiatives that improve development velocity, quality, observability, and operational excellence

• Identify technical risks early, communicate tradeoffs clearly, and implement mitigation strategies

• Champion standard processes for development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and on-call readiness

• Ship Product features capabilities using feature flags, experimentation frameworks, and gradual rollouts, and iterate based on real-world usage and feedback

What you will bring:

• 7+ years of experience building native mobile applications, with deep, hands-on expertise in iOS (Swift/SwiftUI required)

• Deep understanding of mobile architecture, design patterns, lifecycle management, and performance optimization

• Experience building secure, consumer-facing mobile apps with high availability and scalability

• Hands-on experience with Web View integrations alongside native UI components

• Experience with Computer Vision and real-time frame processing.

• Experience with shared C++ components across iOS and Android.

• Experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into production mobile applications

• Strong understanding of secure data handling & privacy considerations, including PII, consent management, and regional compliance requirements

Collaboration:

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical decisions, tradeoffs, risks, and opportunities to both technical and non-technical interested parties

• Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments

• Ability to conduct research, analyze results, and apply takeaways to real-world product decisions

• Experience participating in “on-call” support for critical systems.
