About the role...

With our learning app, we have developed a successful business model based on subscriptions, ads and in-app purchases, without charging users for learning content. As our reach continues to grow, we want to elevate Duolingo’s free experience by introducing higher-quality ad formats that delight learners and offer substantial monetization potential for Duolingo. We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead Duolingo’s ad experiences—from defining the ad vision and driving product development to optimizing ad quality and the ads experience.

You will...

  • Develop and drive advertiser and consumer-facing product features through their entire creative cycle: ideation, specification, development, release, analysis, and iteration

  • Lead and iterate the roadmap for innovative ad formats that excite advertisers while building on Duolingo’s tenets of gamification, delightful design, brand equity, and character IP

  • Establish the product vision and strategy for the ads business, and build alignment across product teams, cross-functional partners, and the executive team

  • Perform qualitative and quantitative research to explore and validate feature ideas

  • Partner with product designers to ensure a fun and delightful user experience in our product

  • Work with engineers and designers to help guide feature development

  • Perform experiment analysis on features and find opportunities for optimization

  • Execute with urgency and excellence

You have...

  • Proven track record in building ad products, with strong product management expertise

  • Strong understanding of advertising technology and key players in the ads ecosystem

  • A desire to make the world a better place through technology and education

  • Experience generating impressive results as a product manager

  • Ability to utilize and apply user insights, data, and statistical analyses to inform decisions

  • Top-tier design sense -- every pixel matters at Duolingo

  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve, be curious, and innovative

Exceptional candidates will have...

  • Advanced degree in Business, Computer Science, Design, Psychology, or equivalent

  • Experience in developing and scaling ad formats

  • Experience in optimizing programmatic ad serving for a consumer-facing mobile app
