About the role...
Come and be a product lead on an extraordinary Social Growth team with a world-changing mission. Duolingo’s core story for the last 13 years has been about consistent user growth, and in the Growth Pillar, you’ll be at the heart of it. You’ll work on some of Duolingo’s most famous features, helping build and invent products that drive retention and engagement: leaderboards, friend streaks, friend quests and gifting. Additionally, you’ll develop new social features from the ground up, helping to connect learners with friends and strangers alike.
Our teams in growth can run upwards of 100 experiments a quarter, meaning that we’re learning what learners respond to at a breakneck pace, not only helping improve the product literally every day but also giving PMs the opportunity to develop a much stronger sense of what works (and what doesn’t). The core of the work in Social Growth at Duolingo is behavioral science - what helps people build a new habit, to continue learning even when it gets hard, and to build meaningful connections with both friends and strangers.
We look to PMs to drive the ideas and opportunities; rarely is our leadership team dictating features for teams to build, and some of our most successful and iconic growth features have been initiatives started by junior and senior PMs alike. At Duolingo, you’ll have the opportunity (and be expected) to chart new paths for growth within the product.
Critical to our growth is that at the core of Duolingo, we’re not a game - we are a learning product. By helping grow and retain users through social features, you’re helping people all over the world learn a language or a skill, gaining new opportunities in life. Improving the lives of millions of learners is a deeply held part of our mission, and your work is critical to achieving that.
Join us at Duolingo and help shape the future of learning, one learner at a time.
