About the Role

Barron's is looking for a journalist to provide the definitive voice on technology—a reporter who doesn't just follow the news, but anticipates the market shifts that define it. From the AI arms race to the next generation of disruptive IPOs, you will provide Barron's readers with exclusive scoops on the biggest companies and/or investment advice for a sector at the cutting edge.

You Will:

  • Break news on the tech sector's most important companies and report with factual accuracy
  • Analyze corporate financial statements, and explaining corporate finance and strategy in a compelling and accessible way
  • Express strong views on financial markets and individual stocks
  • Experiment with different forms of storytelling, on a variety of digital platforms as well as in print
  • Engage with audiences on video, podcasts, and at live events

You Have:

  • 7 years of related experience
  • Knowledge and passion about the tech industry, as well as technology's transformative effect on businesses and the economy, with an extensive network of relevant sources and a practical understanding of the issues investors consider when making decisions
  • Experience with writing in-depth feature articles and quick insightful pieces of analysis
  • Accustomed to and energized by the pace of a digital newsroom and reliable at turning in excellent stories under tight deadline
  • Experience in data analysis and in collaborating with designers on data visualizations

Base Pay Range: $140,000 - $175,000

We’re committed to offering competitive and flexible compensation to attract top talent. This pay range reflects our good faith estimate for the role and may vary based on a candidate’s experience, skills, location, and other relevant factors.

For bonus-eligible roles, targets are determined based on multiple considerations, including market benchmarks and individual contributions.
