Real-Time News Reporter, APAC (Japanese Speaking)Location:

Singapore |Hybrid: 3 days in-office

Dow Jones Newswires is seeking a versatile, fast-paced reporter for our Asia-Pacific news hub in Singapore. You will join a premier team of journalists fueling our real-time news and analysis service for financial professionals globally. This is an exciting opportunity to write market-leading breaking news for Dow Jones, the global authority in business journalism and publisher of The Wall Street Journal.

The Role: Real-Time Coverage

You will monitor a fast-moving stream of press releases, websites, and data to identify and publish forward-looking details in real time. Your work will evolve rapidly from quick-fire, market-moving headlines to punchy short stories and deeper thematic analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Real-Time Identification: Use exceptional news judgment to identify and prioritize news of importance to professionals from a wealth of available content.

  • Rapid Analysis: Summarize complex corporate news into smart briefs and subsequent analysis of what the news means for investors.

  • Global Collaboration: Work seamlessly with reporters and editors across Dow Jones Newswires and The Wall Street Journal globally.

  • Journalistic Integrity: Uphold Dow Jones standards and ethics while maintaining a well-honed sense of urgency and accuracy.

What You Bring

  • Language: Professional fluency in both English and Japanese is essential for coverage of Japanese companies.

  • Experience: 2–3 years of relevant journalism or financial markets experience.

  • Skills: A strong grasp of corporate earnings statements, economic data, and financial regulation.

  • Mindset: Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and remain calm under the pressure of a high-volume, real-time newsroom.
