About the Role:
- Vice President of Product
- Wall Street Journal, you will define and drive the overarching product vision and strategy for one of the world’s most trusted and influential news organizations. You will lead a high-performing product organization responsible for shaping how WSJ journalism is delivered, experienced, and monetized across platforms including web and mobile app. You will partner closely with engineering, design, newsroom leadership, marketing, and executive stakeholders to ensure WSJ continues to innovate while delivering meaningful value to millions of readers worldwide. You will balance long-term product transformation with near-term execution, ensuring that WSJ’s product strategy aligns with company objectives, strengthens audience engagement, and supports sustainable business growth.
You will report to the Senior Vice President:
- Consumer Products.

The Wall Street Journal is a global news organization that provides leading news, information, commentary and analysis. The Wall Street Journal engages readers across print, digital, mobile, social, podcast and video. Building on its heritage as the preeminent source of global business and financial news, the Journal includes coverage of U.S. & world news, politics, arts, culture, lifestyle, sports, and health. You Will:

Define and execute the overarching multi-year product vision and strategy for The Wall Street Journal, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and long-term business goals

Lead and develop a senior product organization, mentoring Directors and Product Leaders while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and collaboration
-
Partner cross-functionally with engineering, design, newsroom leadership, marketing, and commercial teams to deliver high-impact initiatives that advance WSJ’s journalism and audience experiences

Drive prioritization and trade-off decisions across a complex portfolio, balancing breaking-news demands, platform resilience, audience growth, and revenue strategy

Oversee product roadmaps, performance metrics, and investment planning, ensuring strong analytical rigor, operational excellence, and measurable outcomes
-
Represent product strategy at the highest levels of the organization, serving as a key voice in executive decision-making and long-term business planning

Champion deep customer understanding and market insight, ensuring product innovation is grounded in audience needs, competitive dynamics, and technical feasibility
You Have:

15+ years of experience in Product Management, including leadership of multiple product teams and significant business areas

Proven track record of setting and executing product strategy across complex portfolios with measurable audience and business impact

Deep expertise in digital media, subscription-driven products, newsroom workflows, or comparable high-scale consumer content ecosystems

Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior executives, editorial leaders, and cross-functional partners at the highest levels

Strong analytical and operational discipline: ability to define success metrics, oversee performance reporting, and guide investment decisions

Experience building and scaling diverse, high-performing product organizations, fostering innovation and talent growth

Pay Range: $245,000 - $295,000

Pay-for-performance is a key element in our strategy to attract, engage, and motivate talented people to do their best work. Similarly to salary, for bonus eligible roles, targets are set based on a variety of factors including competitive market practice.
