About the Role
Dow Jones is seeking an experienced Lead Developer to provide technical leadership for our RCTP engineering team in Glasgow. This role will own end-to-end delivery of complex, cross-team projects while mentoring engineers and driving technical excellence across our Risk & Compliance platform serving global enterprise clients.
Risk Center Third Party (RCTP) is a mission-critical B2B product that provides comprehensive third-party risk management and screening capabilities to enterprise clients globally.
You will report into the Engineering Manager.
You Will:
- Own Technical Delivery: Lead the end-to-end execution of complex, cross-team projects, acting as the primary expert for the RCTP application ecosystem.
- Architect for Scale: Drive high-level design decisions to ensure global enterprise systems remain scalable, high-performing, and maintainable.
- Champion Engineering Standards: Set the bar for production excellence by leading design reviews and ensuring strict adherence to ISO 27001 and data governance.
- Mentor & Grow Talent: Level up the engineering team through rigorous code reviews, technical guidance, and active participation in hiring and skill development.
- Bridge Product & Engineering: Facilitate seamless collaboration between Design, Product, and Engineering to align technical roadmaps with business strategy.
- Operationalize Strategy: Contribute to departmental planning, including budgeting and the development of long-term technology roadmaps.
- Drive Process Evolution: Advocate for and implement best practices in deployment, monitoring, and risk management to constantly improve team velocity.
You Have:
- Proven Leadership: 4-7 years of professional experience with a track record of leading technical projects and mentoring high-performing engineering teams.
- Expert Full-Stack Proficiency: Deep expertise in the **Microsoft Stack (.NET Core/C#)**and modern frontend frameworks, specifically React.js.
- Cloud Architecture: Extensive experience designing and scaling distributed systems on Azure, including Microservices, Service Bus, and Logic Apps.
- Advanced Data Strategy: Strong background in data modeling and optimization using Cosmos DB and Elasticsearch.
- Engineering Quality: A disciplined approach to the SDLC with mastery of TDD/BDD, maintaining 80%+ test coverage, and automated DevOps pipelines.
