
Allocation Analyst
About the role
Allocation Analysts are responsible for managing the optimal deployment of merchandise to the stores within their assigned Category(s). Major functions of the Allocation Analyst within the realm of inventory deployment, are the splitting of merchandise between distribution centers, building effective allocation execution plans, optimal allocation and flow of the product to the stores, and providing in depth review of performance including analytics-based recommendations for future improvements.
The primary goal of the Allocation Analyst is to achieve an optimum inventory level within the distribution centers and stores through managing inventory turn disparity across volume groups for each of their category(s) seasons in order to maximize sales and profitability. Allocation Analysts work closely with business partners to resolve any store inventory issues. Incumbents in this position are responsible for embracing Dollar Tree and Family Dollar’s store-centric commitment to customer service, inventory productivity, and sales.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

Each Allocation Analyst is responsible for the inventory deployment strategy and results for around 700 – 1,000 SKUs with sales totaling $110 - 150 million annually.

Responsible for splitting purchase orders in the appropriate quantities to DC’s to maximize store service levels and department turn. Maintain balanced inventory levels in all Distribution Centers and Retail Locations

Responsible for allocating and replenishing items weekly in accordance with department strategy and merchant vision while maintaining appropriate store inventory levels.

Analyze sales history to support event quantities by location for all event/seasonal SKUs and ensure all SKUs attached to Events/Ads are allocated and replenished in a timely manner, and facilitate periodic seasonal event strategy meetings with business partners to ensure effective execution of seasonal strategies.

Collaborate with Merchant, Assortment Planner, and Financial Planner to ensure allocations are aligned with department sales and turn goals

Communicate effectively with other departments within the organization regarding business trends in assigned category and attend and make value added contributions to weekly Category performance review meetings .

Monitor seasonal inventory that is held in the DCs to ensure inventory is released out of the DCs in a timely manner.

Position Requirements:
Office work environment, 40+ work hours per week
Minimum Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university or associate’s degree with additional experience / training preferred.
Experience: One to three years of retail store experience and/or merchandise allocation experience desirable.
Job Related Skills: Ability to prioritize and organize workload, possess strong problem-solving skills, capable of meeting stringent deadlines, and possess effective communication skills.
Computer Skills: Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office including Excel, Access, Power Point and Word. Ability to develop, manipulate, format and share spreadsheets for the purpose of analysis.
JDA Arthur Allocations, MMS and AS400 experience preferred.
Start Rate = $50,000-59,000 based on experience plus 10% bonus.
