Commerce, Data & Identity provides the core product management functions for areas crucial to Disney’s media businesses. These include initiatives and products that power digital commerce, identity, and growth, as well as those that reach uniquely across the Disney enterprise, such as messaging and privacy, among others. Additionally, it is responsible for the data engineering, science, and products for Disney Entertainment & ESPN, along with their interconnection with other parts of Disney
What You’ll Be Doing
We are seeking a Senior Product Manager II to drive strategy, roadmap, and execution for Data Governance domain, focusing on Privacy, Consent Management, and Global Data Compliance. This role sits at the intersection of data platform engineering, legal/privacy compliance, and user trust, and plays a vital part in building scalable, secure, and compliant data capabilities. This strategic leadership position is focused on driving governance solutions, ensuring compliance, and delivering value to customers. This role requires a blend of deep product sense, technical expertise, and strong cross-functional collaboration. You’ll drive the development of products and platform services that enable our enterprise to meet evolving privacy regulations (like GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, COPPA) while also delivering seamless experiences for customers.
Key Responsibilities:

Define and lead the strategic roadmap for Data Governance with an emphasis on privacy, consent, and regulatory compliance.

Translate complex global privacy regulations into scalable, user-friendly platform capabilities (e.g., consent capture, data subject request workflows, privacy preference centers).

Conduct market analysis to identify emerging trends in customer expectations in data privacy and governance as well as related vendor tools and products.
-
Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for data governance features—from ideation through launch and ongoing adoption.
-
Ensure solutions meet both internal operational needs and external customer-facing requirements, with an emphasis on reliability, scalability, and performance.

Build robust platform services and third-party product integration capabilities that support global privacy operations at scale.

Champion a privacy-first architecture across data collection, ingestion, classification, usage, and retention workflows.
-
Partner with engineering to drive automation and workflow optimization around DSARs, retention policies, and data lineage.

Define and track KPIs to measure the success and impact of privacy and governance products (e.g., consent opt-in rates, DSAR resolution time, audit readiness).

Use data to continuously inform prioritization and product decision-making.

Work closely with stakeholders across Legal, Privacy, Security, Engineering, Technical Support and others to align data governance, privacy and compliance features with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external vendors to ensure scalable implementation of privacy and compliance tools.

Mentor and coach junior product managers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
Basic Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Information systems, Computer Science or a related field
-
7+ years of related product-focused work experience in an enterprise software development environment focused on one or more of the following: Data Governance, Privacy Rights Management, Data Management, Big Data & Analytics, Data Warehouse, or Data Quality
-
Experience in one or more of the following areas: Consent and privacy management solutions, inventory and catalog solutions for data assets, metadata management solutions, access management solutions, and/or data lifecycle management solutions
-
Experience with regulatory and legal implications for integrated data platforms. e.g., CCPA, GDPR, COPPA, VPPA across complex data architectures
-
Proven ability to develop product strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to executive management
-
Skilled at working effectively with cross-functional teams and influencing conversations to drive positive outcomes for the product and the business
-
Communicates difficult concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences and negotiates with others to adopt a different point of view
-
Demonstrable analytical & problem-solving skills with ability to balance various priorities
Preferred Qualifications:

Masters Degree in a related field, and/or applicable certification/s
-
Hands-on experience in configuring, managing or integrating with One Trust, Trust Arc, Alation, Collibra, Immuta, Snowflake, Databricks, Microsoft Purview, SQL or similar tools

Knowledge of data security approaches and requirements considerations

The hiring range for this position in Seattle, WA is $159,500 to $213,900 per year, in Los Angeles, CA is $152,200 to $204,100 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
