OVERVIEW:

The Manager of Pricing Strategy is responsible for leading best in class retail and lifecycle pricing and promotional strategies and enabling pricing capabilities to facilitate the improved use of data to support our strategic decision making process. The Manager will develop and drive key strategic initiatives within the merchandising organization related to pricing, including but not limited to the refinement of our corporate pricing policies, the expansion and enhancement of our price optimization efforts, and collaborating on the management of our clearance programs. The Manager will partner with leaders and associates across multiple functions to identify opportunities, make recommendations, and drive adoption based on internal and external factors to achieve an organization's long-term pricing goals. In addition, the Manager of Pricing will lead their team in identifying and implementing process and technology enhancements that enable the effective delivery against the strategic plan.

The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience working closely with senior leaders on multiple, day-to-day aspects of the business. In addition, the ideal candidate has the ability to use analytics to drive decisions, solve problems and optimize both athlete-facing and back-end business processes.

Strategic Pricing

Collaborate with the Value Chain leadership to develop the company's clearance and end-of-life merchandise programs.

Identify and manage the company’s performance targets

Monitor inventory ownership and sales performance, as well as execute promotional activities that support the program and company’s financial goals

Develop and manage the price optimization roadmap for the company.

Drive adoption and growth of programs via partnership with merchandising leadership team.

Develop and direct the related analytics and reporting needs to ensure the team is delivering against objectives.

Process Improvement (Analysis, Design and Execution)

Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for improvement; Own accurate delivery of project deliverables in alignment with leadership expectations based on business needs

Evaluate pricing best practices within and external to the organization and develop and implement pricing policies that align with company strategies and initiatives. This body of work applies across our various banners, sales channels, and also specifically contemplates how the competitive landscape should inform our pricing policies.

Assess process and technology opportunities that can better enable use of pricing strategy as an effective differentiator at the company. Develop recommendations and plans to improve systems and/or process, as relevant.

Analyze and provide actionable recommendations to Management for efficient pricing of merchandise for re-deployment of inventory in cases of store closures, relocations or remodels

Supervising and Developing Talent

Manage execution responsibilities and workload of direct reports to achieve department deliverables on-time and with quality.

Provide direct reports with timely and regular feedback to support associate development/ growth in role.

Establish strategic staffing and succession plans (0-2-year horizon) within span of control and gain Director support; successfully deliver on proposed staffing objectives.

Drive talent selection process for open direct report positions; Ensure all direct reports are appropriately trained and on-boarded.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree

  • Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Merchandising, Analytics

7 -10 years of experience

  • Retail Pricing experience strongly preferred
